Tea Time!

by surferNYC

A friend of mine invited me for afternoon tea at The Pembroke Room - what a treat!!! We had the Royal Tea, which was delightful. The ambiance was elegant and the staff were extremely pleasant. I had a truly lovely time and can't wait to go back.

Awesome food and service!!!

by CajunInCa

I went to this restaurant in May 2009 on a recommendation from my Am Exp Platinum concierge and was not disappointed at all. Our reservations were early (5pm) so we didn't experience any noise issues or lack of service as some of the other reviews stated. On the contrary, our server was amazing! We joked and had a blast with him. We ordered a Beef Wellington dish and a scallops dish on recommendation from our server. It was the first time I had tried the Beef Wellington and FELL IN LOVE. It was soooo good...literally melted in your mouth. And the scallops, ahhhh, I dream about them. The only negative I experienced were the prices were a little high and the vegetable side dish was average. I do not mind paying for good food however. In fact, I'm traveling to NY again in August 09 and will definitely go back to Post House during my trip. Oh yeah, the cookies on the way out were de-lish too!

The only reason I gave them 4 stars was our vegetable side dish was just ok. For that kind of money, it should be fantastic!

Horrible Service, Lackluster food, avoid on all nights

by jonboy01pu

Went here for a birthday party. The service could not have been worse. As we sat down we notified our waiter that we had two cancelations, without saying anything he pulled away two seats and took the silverware in a huff. The rest of the meal he acted like he was doing us a favor by serving us and constantly muttered comments under his breath. The fried oysters were cold and small and the prime rib was middling at best. You can get better food with less attitude at a hundred different places in the city, that is unless you enjoy the company of 80 year olds in a loud atmosphere. Avoid at all costs.

  • Cons: Worst service i have had in many meals
