The Scene
Predating the Civil War, this is one of the few brick houses remaining in Asheville. It is the only one located in a semi-rural area, and its many distinctions have earned it a listing on the National Registry of Historic Places. The property is surrounded by thick natural growth that makes it feel secluded. In fact, it is just minutes from restaurants and area attractions.
The Details
The home boasts wide verandas and overlooks the mountains. All of the guest rooms are furnished with period pieces to recall the property's earliest days. First- and second-floor accommodations have private baths and fireplaces. The third floor houses a two-room suite with a queen sleeper sofa in the sitting room and a private bath that is separate from the suite. The Swan Cottage Suite has a bedroom and living room with a queen sleeper sofa and a fireplace. With its free-flowering garden and musical fountain, the courtyard is enchanting. A huge swimming pool is set in the pines. Discounts are offered for stays of three days or more.
