“The lounge itself is a beautiful space and we brought our drinks and got settled for the show on one of the couches with a bearskin throw.”
“am big seafood fan and this dish is definitely one that I will order again.”
Citysearch Editorial Review. This gigantic bi-level midtown restaurant and lounge is more of a destination than a pit stop before a night on the town. The upstairs eatery features a menu filled with eclectic Asian-Mediterranean dishes, including shishito peppers, marinated baby octopus and wild boar tenderloin, which pair perfectly with unique cocktails or a selection from the extensive wine list. After your meal, head down to the subterranean lounge, where in-the-know guests keep the party going. Canoodle in a hidden lovers’ den (complete with mirrored ceilings) or sip cocktails in the main bar area, which is luxuriously decorated with cowhide rugs, sheepskin pillows and metallic accents.
Wonderful Dinner and Jazz at Covet.
My fiance and I and another couple made a dinner reservation at Covet this past Tuesday evening at the suggestion of a mutual friend who had raved about the cuisine. When my fiance and I arrived, the rest of our party was stuck in traffic so we asked to be seated and order cocktails. I ordered a delicious rose flavored champagne and my fiance got what they called a "His Martini". I tried a sip and thought it was quite tasty as well.
Our friends soon arrived and we ordered a few appetizers for the table: shishito peppers, a lobster brulee dish and a beet and goat cheese salad. All of the appetizers were wonderful and we couldn't wait to browse the entrees. I decided on the halibut which was served in a yuzu broth that was out of this world. I am big seafood fan and this dish is definitely one that I will order again. The two men ordered the tenderloin with sweet potatoes per the waiters suggestion that they both enjoyed.
Following dinner, we made our way to the lounge down below the restaurant to enjoy the weekly Jazz orchestra that plays on Tuesday evenings. My fiance and I had seen the band perform once before at The Plaza and were eager to unwind and enjoy some calming jazz. The lounge itself is a beautiful space and we brought our drinks and got settled for the show on one of the couches with a bearskin throw. The band ended up being better than I remembered and the crowd in the lounge really seemed to be enjoying the music. I will certainly be returning again soon on a Tuesday for a lovely dinner and a great jazz band.
Don't go here.
We called and reserved a space for our friends birthday on saturday night.
We get to the door and the bouncer would not let us in saying we were not on the guest list and only people on the guest list were being let in at this point. It was only 10:30 PM at this point.
We were dressed to impress however the VIP booker seemed to have an issue with us as we were not caucasian. While we tried to get in for 15 min, he let 4 caucasian blond women in without checking to see if they were on the list.
Seems like they were discrimanatory on basis of color.
