Editorial Review for Wildcat Mountain Ski Area – by Citysearch Editors

The Scene
Wildcat stands just a few miles east of Mt. Washington, a location that provides some of the most dramatic mountain views this side of the Rockies. It also provides some of the coldest weather so January and early February can be uncomfortably chilly. Fortunately, the trip down these narrow, well-groomed trails is such a rush that most skiers don't have time to think about their frosty toes. There is no night skiing, and not much happening in Jackson, although North Conway is nearby.

The Slopes
We haven't skied anywhere in New England with more of the mountain dedicated to vertical adventures. That's just part of the story. Wildcat provides you with plenty of options. And if you're looking for steep, it's here. The high-speed quad will get you to the top quickly. How fast you come down is up to you.

If you like great speed and moguls then this is the place for you. Great views of Mt Washington and Tuckerman's ravine. You'll need sharp edges and lots of fortitude to negotiate the expert trails on windy and cold days-the extreme challenge. Come early for a good parking spot.
