Wonnie is the best. Beautiful dress, perfect tailoring, amazing staff!
Highly Recommended. This place is a small boutique, which I would have never found if it weren't for a friend of mine. I bought my wedding dress from David's Bridal so of course I took my dress back to them for the alterations. Well, David's Bridal did a HORRENDOUS job on my alterations. The dress I once loved, I absolutely hated! Three weeks before my wedding I thought I was going to have to buy a new dress. As a last resort, a friend of mine suggested I take it to For My Wedding to see if they could do something with the alterations. Wonee and her staff were AMAZING!! It was so comforting to know that you weren't just another appointment, but a bride. They took their time explaining what was wrong with the alterations and what needed to be done for it to fit properly. Over the three weeks before my wedding, they worked on my dress and had me come in for a few fittings to make sure it fit correctly and that I was pleased with the way it looked. They made my dress look beautiful!! I've never met such a talented seamstress! There aren't many people who possess the skill of dressmaking. They practically took my dress apart and put it back together. I would highly recommend For My Wedding!!
A bridal boutique that gives you excellent personal attentio. I cannot sing the praises of Won Yi and Jin, the owners of “For My Wedding” enough! Since I was a little girl I knew that I always wanted to wear my mother’s wedding dress and to make that a reality several alterations were necessary to accommodate my larger frame. I spent several weeks visiting well known and respected bridal boutiques in New Jersey, but it was not until I went to “For My Wedding” that I found a bridal specialist who understood my wedding vision and whose talent I trusted. Often in the other boutiques the alteration specialist would recommend dramatic alterations to my mother’s dress to make it more modern, not recognizing my choice to maintain its traditional sweetness, or would treat the dress, which is made of a delicate hand embroidered silk organza, roughly. Won Yi, however, treated the thirty year old dress as the treasure that it was. When I went for my first fitting, I almost couldn’t believe that any alterations were made to the sleeves or the bodice because they seemed to look exactly the same, and yet now fit perfectly. Additionally, she was able to transform the dress from its naturally aged ivory color back to its original pure whiteness, and meticulously looked over all the embroidery to check for snags or areas needing mending. Throughout the entire process, she and Jin were accommodating, cheerful, and professional. Also, most importantly, they were always honest with me. Like many brides, in my search for the perfect people to trust my wedding day vision with, I encountered many who would simply tell me what I wanted to hear to make a sale. At “For My Wedding”, though, I could always trust to hear an honest opinion and knew that their advice and insight were given with every intention to help me achieve my dream vision for the day and not to pursue any profit. For their advice and excellent craftsmanship, I will always be indebted.
Absolutely horrendous customer service.
This place is the worst. Their selection is horrible. I placed an order with them and received the dress in the wrong length. The person I was dealing with (Wonnie, who also placed my order) failed to even mention to me that the dress was sent in the wrong length (was she hoping I wouldn't remember?) Then had the nerve to tell me she would do me the FAVOR of hemming the dress at no charge. I proceeded to ask for compensation and mad her aware that doing the hem was by no means a favor but a correction of her mistake.....which she has yet to acknowledge. I asked for $15 to be taken off my balance.....she said she could only do $10!!! YES SHE FOUGHT WITH ME OVER $5, even when I drew to her attention that this $5 would make her customer feel a little better & maybe prevent bad reviews and a call to the BBB!!!! Her next offer was to send the dress back to the vendor, and have it shipped to me (in other words.....please just go away). Then she would not give me anything to document that she agreed to do a free hem, and take the measly $10 off due to THEIR ERROR......by stating "how did she know I was really the person who bought the dress because I didn't have my receipt with me"....I offered her ID (haha) then she proceeded to scribble it on a business card.
I've never experienced such poor customer service. I will never...ever make a purchase there again. Believe me I understand mistakes happen, and would have totally been understanding had she apologized and offered to compensate me in addition to fixing the problem rather than making it as if she were doing me a favor.
I wish I had the time to get my dress elsewhere because I would demand a refund due to receiving the incorrect dress and leave it for them to deal with.
In addition, communication is horrendous.
Do yourself a favor.....don't go here. There are plenty of other bridal shops in the area.
