Tips for Best Western Fort Lee

Would not recommend this hotel. I booked a non-smoking room with a queen sized bed + sofa bed for $115/night and my brother also booked the same type of room for $118/night. When we arrived on 9/1 at 11:50PM, the clerk told us

that they had already given away our rooms because we did not check in by 6 PM. In my confirmation e-mail, nowhere did it state that I had to check in by 6 PM. The confirmation e-mail also said that the room would be guarenteed. The clerk told us they only had one room with a king bed left but that was not acceptable since there were 4 of us. He checked with the Best Western in Hackensack and told us that they had 2 rooms available and that they could transfer our reservations there at the same rate. After we drove 5 miles to the Hackensack hotel, the clerk told us that they had 2 smoking rooms available for $129/night and would not honor the reservation price that we had with the Fort Lee hotel. We had no choice since it was the middle of the night and accepted those rooms. My girlfriend could not sleep because of the cigarette smell. My brother is allergic to smoke as well and had a difficult time sleeping. I would not use Best Western in the future.
