With weekly drink specials featuring buckets of Yuengling and shots of Black Haus till you black out, this boisterous Hoboken hot spot is clearly not the New Jersey outpost of the Paramount Hotel's Whiskey Bar. The narrow space boasts a long oak bar, a commemorative Kurt Cobain poster and a mess of signs to advertise all the best deals on drinks. Relaxed during happy hour and hyper during the weekend rush, this joint shuns the Manhattan chic.

The Draw
Live music, a mix of original and cover bands, and powerful drinks help work up the crowd on the well-worn dance floor. The Hawaiian Punch cocktail is as sweet as the perfume of the ladies who recommend it, and potent concoctions like the Intimidator recall a time gone by, when making punch in a wastebasket was socially acceptable and wild nights were completely worth the dire mornings that followed.
