Very disappointed with DJ!!!

Searched online for a good 80s bar in NJ. Came up with very little - except for Loop Lounge. We decided to give it a try on January 3, 2009. Very disappointing! The bartenders were great - very friendly. The drinks we good, too. Great price - can't beat it anywhere. The $3 "pink cosmos" they published were excellent. The 2 bars were nice, as were the decorations over the bar. But, the main reason we all went was to hear 80s music & dance! We were there for hours & heard only 2 or 3 sons we even knew! One of the members of our party was a DJ in the 80s, and the rest of us were out dancing in the 80s every single weekend - so we know our music. When we approached the DJ (with a smile, not confrontational or anything), he told us that they play "obscure 80s." He was obviously full of himself - one of those DJs that plays what HE wants instead of what his customers want! And everyone in the bar paid for us. No one danced! Too bad. This could be a really fun place for us who love the old music, but the DJ ruined it. With so many good songs to dance to, I wonder what motivated him not to play any songs that anyone even actually knew???

Great 80's new wave

Loop provides great 80's new wave every Wed and Saturday. Wed has slowed down since they started the Saturday night 80's but has a more authentic edgy crowd. Saturday nights have been getting really crowded but the music is still great. Drinks are cheap and the bartenders in the back room are awsome! They have Live bands every Friday. They don't have there own parking but I'm always able to park down the street or in the Salvation Army parking lot.
