The best!

I went to American Laser Centers as my last chance to get hair removal. I had previously done 4 treatments at my dermatologist's office in NJ. I wasn't too thrilled with my original results and the prices were too expensive for me. When I went to the clinic, I signed up for a 6 treatment package for my bikini and underarms which came with the 2 year guarantee period in case I needed more than 6 treatments. Their machines are super powerful (can't remember the name) and they have a cooler that sprays cold air on the area at the same time, which really dulls the pain. (i used to use numbing cream at the doc's office, but this is much easier) I have only had 2 treatments so far with Am. Laser, but I am already seeing better results, and feel like they are more thorough than the doctor I had gone to. The staff is always very pleasant, and they have weekend and eve hours, so it is very convenient for me coming from NJ. The biggest plus is that my package costs less than what I had paid just for the 4 in NJ!!! I am thinking about doing my legs next, but going to wait a few more treatments to see my results!!

• Cons: Not always available right away by phone, busy schedule

Love the Velashape!!!

I started Velashape about 2 months ago to get prepared for a trip I had planned to the Bahamas. I had a total of 6 treatments, once a week, on my abdomen and thigh areas. I am soooo excited about my results!!! I just got back from my trip and I have never felt so great about lounging on the beach in my bikini!!! I worked hard too, ate well and drank tons of water. I will definitely be back for maintenance treatments. I always felt comfortable with the technician, and the girls are so nice that work there. Highly recommended!!

• Cons: busy schedule, need to schedule treatments in advance

Shady operation

This place seems really shady to me. Although I've yet to visit them they called me saying I'd won a competition and coupon for $300 but then they were way too pushy for me to make an appointment it was just way too hard sell. I asked them their prices and they couldn't tell me, not even for the photo facials. Now ALL other laser places will tell you so many dollars per session but American Laser don't do that they want you to come in ....which is way to shady if you ask me.

If you can't be clear about your prices for standard treatments then I can't waste my time to make an appointment. I would be really wary if I were you.

No result and worst service

If you show interest in them, they have a great way calling you to sell you their service and taking your money, but once you sign the docs, then forget about any service provided. They say they are very busy so you make an appointmnet up to 2-3 months in advance, but they do not call you to remind you about it, but rather charge you no show or cancelation fees.

I have been for every 2 months appointments for the last 2 years and 4 months, and I have yet to see the results. I am white with average colored hair, not too hairy, but wanted to be hair free. It will not happen with the $4,000 I wasted on this service. They keep on saying that it is still within their norms in terms of the little patches of no hair I have, (patches are about 25% of the leg surface) but there is only half a year left of my 3 year contract, and i have been to twice as many sessions as the advertise, but doubt there will be any major improvememts in the max 3 seesions I have left in the 3 yr contract.

• Cons: no result, very pricey, no customer service, bad machines
