Very disappointing.. Cold soup, overcooked meat, a waitress who spent most of her shift texting and never checked on us, a dirty bathroom, flies indoors (in November). Very disappointing.

Love this place.. i love this place. its got a huge menu like a diner but the food and atmosphere is much better than an old school diner. I mean its not fine dining on either account, but in terms of diners this is fantastic. Owners are nice and always welcoming and remember the customers and get to know them. I probably go there too much but its quick, cheap and the food is great.

The best diner in the world. The Brownstone diner is the reason I moved to Jersey City. The food, particularly the breakfast, is superb, and the vibe can't be beat. Bring a group of friends and you're guaranteed to have a great time!

I've been to the Brownstone over 100 times and I've only been able to sample maybe 20% of the menu.

Good place for diner foor. This place can be a great place to go if you're not expecting much, love diner food, and want it at a good price. The service leaves something to be desired, by its by no means bad. We've tried a lot on the menu and its all been pretty good. They're even willing to mix some items together and create exactly what you're looking for.

Terrible place!. It was the worst experience I have ever had in my life. We have 3 kids and a double stroller. We went last night at 5:30pm. There were 3 tables filled and the rest of the room was empty. We asked if we could bring the double stroller (our twins are 17 months) to the table as the restaurant was empty. They said no leave it by the door. After sitting with all the kids the owner came up and said, I do not like the way the stroller looks by the door and I do not like that you said my restaurant was empty - leave. I pleaded with him as my kids were seated already and hungry and he said, "that is not my problem, its yours, leave".

An Awful Diner Experience. I hope you are not looking for a nice experience here. The utensils were dirty and it is against the owner?s policy to give you hot water. We just wanted to clean our utensils. Not sure what she (manager, may have been the owner) thought we were going to do with the water. The waitress seemed to be lacking social skills. I don't think she ever told us her name. My waffle came out of the kitchen cold and hard. My brother and his wife had similar experiences with their pancakes (cold and hard). Everything was lacking flavor. Not sure why this place was featured on the Food network. This was the worst diner experience I have ever had.
