Ann Manor claims to be a residential mental health care facility. I believe a more accurate term to describe the facility would be bedlam.
In the last two months Ann Manor has disinfranchised, threatened and stolen from their clientelle.
I work at a day program as a case manager in a behavioral healthcare center. In one particularly desturbing instance Ann Manor allowed my client to be without his meds for 3-5 days. My client is very dependant on his antipsychotic meds and when he is without his medicine he gets very sick and paranoid. When my client was recieving treatment however he was productive, working two days a week at a grocey store and attending our program the other three. (an amazing accompishment for someone with his illness) My client in early Sept had been without his medication for 3-5, decompensated, became delusional and faught with one of his peers. The only person working there was unqualified to handle crisis intervention and has limited English skills. She did nothing to break up the fight or call crisis. Instead she hid and called 911 w/o calling crisis, which should never happen at a residential boarding home or any othe mental healthcare agency. My client who has no history of assaultive behavior but was very scared and unfortunately ran from the police, he also accidentally hurt one of the officers. My client was arrested for assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest, but not before being pepper-sprayed and incurring two broken ribs.Until Ann Manor is under new management it would be a crime to send anyone there for residential treatment.
The only redeeming quality to Ann Manor are the people who live there. Despite all the gross incompentence they have to endure, the clients who live there somehow they manage to cope and do very well at our day program.
- Pros: The residents
- Cons: Everything else including bedbugs!
