Horrible experience. If you sit at the bar, be prepared to be made fun of by the bartenders. I went there last Saturday night and the bartenders did not stop ridiculing the customers sitting at the bar. They kept referring to customers as weirdos. They were loud about it, as if they don't care who hears them and they don't really work for tips. Come on!! If you're going to sound like retards, get office jobs where you don't interact with the public, oh wait, you can't get anything else thus you're bartenders. I have no idea how those 3 clowns got jobs as bartenders, it says a lot about the lack of standards of managements. Oh, and the old creepy bartender should hang his apron. He just freaked me out with his crypt keeper stares.

BP Oil Spill on Pasta & Used Salad. The first time I went to Portobello, the food was decent and the service was good. I went again last week with my parents to treat them to dinner. The waiter was courteous, but the food was awful awful awful. I got the gnocchi, can't really go wrong with that. 3 AWFUL things about that dinner:

White sauce: My parents ordered pasta but wanted white sauce instead of red. Pasta drenched in oil, butter and salt = NOT white sauce. Who the hell was in the kitchen that day? I was so shocked at the dish. We didn't say anything because we didn't want to spoil our good mood. I wish I took a picture because it was litereally oil and pasta and very salty.

Salad: the salad came with the dinner, but there were wilted leaves and it came drenched in the house sauce. It was soggy and looked like "used salad". I don't know how else to describe it.

Bread: The bread is normally good, but it tasted tough and stale that day.

Portobello, you guys better not serve those kinds of dishes again. We don't plan on going there anytime again soon. What a shame.

You have been warned!. Seriously overpriced. Slow, sloppy, service. One server in particular was extremely rude, arrogant and obnoxious. We had a table of 15 people and the bill was well over $1,000 and overall experience was horrible. Ate there several times now and always had negative issues, but this time was the worst. Service was so slow and the servers were arrogant (especially this one long, dark haired girl and the manager) Will NEVER eat there again.

Awful. This lame excuse of a restaurant totally screwed up my sister's wedding. We had made a reservation for 15 people and they put us upstairs in a room called the Library. It would have been nice if it wasn't 10 degrees Fahrenheit. They started with apologies that the heat was just turned on and it would take 10 minutes to kick in. This was the owner telling us which then the waiter came with a totally different story saying that the heat broke that morning and they were trying to fix it. A half an hour passed, and all of us had been sitting there munching on stale bread with our coats on, just waiting to see what was happening. We all complained that it was way too cold and we could not resist. After much bickering they changed us to the common dining room downstairs. Then the real mess began, they screwed up the orders. My sister who was the bride ended up getting no food because they forgot to write down her order. To top it off, the food was horrendous. Totally mediocre at best. I can say once thing with certainty, neither of us will be going back to this place. And be careful about talking to the owner, (Jimmy) he gives you this face of disgust like you are totally bothering him and wasting his time. Never again. These days it seems like there is an epidemic of bad service and rude servers in a lot of places but to go to a place like this and spend so much money to get nothing short of garbage and a total disappointment, it is just so much more upsetting.

In Italian tradition. Average food with good value, but very noisy atmosphere. If these senion citizens can be calmed down it would definately let you enjoy some of the great dishes that they have.
