Sliced Steak is actually really really awesome!
by rlane789 at Citysearch
I don't know what happened when the last guy who reviewed their sliced steak came in in 2010, but I have to say the sliced steak platter is unbelievable (if that's your thing).. There was apparently a change in management and that may be when the last reviewer came in... Anyway, tangents aside- the quality has gotten to be incredible. They now also have an outdoor patio seating area that I've been enjoying during this beautiful weather. All I can say is that I don't even go anywhere else anymore- this place is too good (do try the Prime Rib special- amazing!). Cheers-
Did I missing something?

I've passed this place for 5 years now and decided to try it out. The menu had "Famous Sliced Steak Platter" on the front so I figured it had to be one of the best things on the menu. It was disgusting. It tasted like they bought a bottom round roast from the supermarket, sliced off 10 thin slices and microwaved it for 45 seconds. No seasonings, no taste, no nothing. My wife got the onion soup - tasteless, like out of a can with pizza cheese somewhat melted and clumped on the top. She also got the sirloin tips appetizer and that was beyond gross. It was chunks of beef swimming in the instant brown gravy that you buy in a packet from the supermarket. Again, not seasoned with anything. As for the building itself, the carpet was so old it was completely warn down whereever people walked. It smelled musty. The bathroom was dirty and the sink's water handle was broken and taped to the sink. Maybe the pizza is good. Maybe the bar is good. Maybe since I went on a Wednesday night they had the janitor fill in for the chef. I'll never know because I'm not going back. $36.20 wasted. I was forced to give a 1 star, but I don't think its even deserving of that.
Thin crust pizza is really good...
by SusieQSarkis at Citysearch
I've lived in Emerson 4 years and just went to the Hotel to eat (many of my friends do). I have been wanting thin crust pizza and theirs was very good. Picked it up for take out along with a salad & apple pie. The salad (6.95) was quite overpriced for iceberg lettuce, some carrot shreds, cukes, tomatoes & blk olives. It came in a large container but didn't nearly fill it. The apple pie- crust around the ede was brown, curst over the top of the pie, not cooked throught. Midway thru my apple was SOOOO cold, you could tell this was a frozen product and not very well executed for serving.
All said, I will order the pizza again and maybe eat in once with friends and see what happens. I hear the steak is reallly good.
- Pros: Close to home, cozy, new outdoor patio
- Cons: see below
You gotta try the sliced steak - best anywhere. And the Pizza is surprisingly good! Chef Nelson really does a great job with the menu. Ya' need to call ahead sometimes as they get crowded.

- Pros: Great food, uniques sliced steak, really good pizza
- Cons: Can get crowded, so try to call ahead.
