Great authentic mexican, great service. First of all the only reason why I'm not rating mama mexico with five stars is because I have to go back and see if everything is as great when it is a busier restaurant. We went the other night for my fathter in laws b day and had a really great experience. The service was very prompt, specials were described thoroughly, food came out with perfect timing. The size of the portions is also very generous. My sister and I shared an entree of grilled shrimp and skirt steak and it was cooked perfectly and so delicious.

My family and I are actually very picky when it comes to restaurants and everyone had a great time and enjoyed everything.

BAD SERVICE, BAD FOOD, & RUDE !!. If you were considering this place as one of your options, I BEG you DON'T GO. For the following reasons:

1. HARD TO COMMUNICATE IN ENGLISH

2. DIRTY CUP

3. BAD FOOD

4. RUDE SERVERS.

The restaurant has nice deco., but the FOOD and the SERVICE are HORRIBLE.

When I ordered 3 CUPS OF WATER, the server came back with AVIAN. I was not sure if she was trying to rip us off or it was a language problem that the server was having, but the SERVER was clearly RUDE. After taking orders, she said, "THIS IS IT??" She could have recommnaded us other dishes, but this kind of response, I do not tolerate.

I ordered Budweiser and the server came back with the USED/ DIRTY CUP with LIP MARKS.

The only reason my realatives and I went there was, because they went there a few days after the opening and they were impressed by their food. They were complaining this time of the BAD FOOD, LESS INGREDIENTS, and SMALL PLATES. In another words, their FOOD has been CHANGED.

My relatives and I were sharing the plates and the servers came to TAKE DISHES AWAY while I was CLEARLY EATING. How can I make it more OBVIOUS that I was still eating than having LOBSTER in my HANDS?? They CAME BACK 3 more TIMES to TAKE DISHES AWAY. I CANNOT TAKE TIME finishing the plate? There were NO CUSTOMER at the door WAITING for available seats.

Meanwhile, I was having the UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE with the servers, the manager was having a good time with the servers chatting.

I STRONGLY REC. you, "DON'T GO!!" The WORST EXPERIENCE in the restaurant.

NOT A GOOD OVERALL EXPERIENCE - AVOID. Went here on Friday night March 9, 2007. Valet parking, which is nice, the lot is confusing with people and cars. Went inside, up the stairs we were greeted & immediately asked if we had a reservation we said no & they looked at us like we had three heads. They told us it would be at least a half an hour, we said ok & waited at the bar. The bar is in the middle of the restaurant set along the back wall makes the general area tight & there is nowhere sit & wait. Had a Margarita rocks & Corona. The Margarita was $10.00 & it was only in a 10-ounce glass. Not even in New York have we ever paid $10.00 for a Margarita on the rocks.Seated us with in 15 to 20 min just to the right of the bar. They briought chips & salsa to the table & ask would like fresh guacamole. BE CAREFUL-They ask before you read a menu; check the prices before you order. We knew there was a charge, they make it tableside, but $13.00 for guacamole. We were annoyed they don?t tell you the price. The entree prices high, i.e. steak is $32.00 (not Morton?s) shrimp is around $25.00. I had tacos, which I do love, but was a little disappointed there was green bell peppers in the beef otherwise my meal was quite good. We asked for sour cream and they charged us 2.50 for a tablepoon worth (unnecessary). He had the Super Burrito, which he said was the best ever had & we have been to Mexico several times. Supposed to get rice & beans, never received them, by the time the waiter came over; we finished our meal.Decided to have dessert, my husband was still hungry we had triple layer chocolate cake, it was just ok & Sopapillas, they only give four pieces. I had them was in Mexico & I got so many there was a pile with syrup & powdered sugar. At Pampano & Maya, you get a plate full & our bill at Pampano was $75.00. 2 cappuccinos clearly from a machine & awful. The bill was $89.00 FOR MEXICAN FOOD;$102.00 with tip. WE WOULD NOT GO BACK, we don?t even pay that much in the village & the food is twice as good.

HATE IT!. The service was horrible!!!!! Large groups are given seats promptly while smaller groups or even parties of twos wait forever. Make sure u have plenty of time when u go there. Waiting for food is like 1 hr waiting for desert is 45mins.. And please, accept watever table the hostess gives u bec if not she'll get mad and give u an attitude.
