Just want to give a warning about what the operating hours are - do NOT trust the official Costco website! Instead, go to the store and take your chances with an overweight and overzealous doorway employee!

The website states that Costco was to be open until 6pm on New Year's Eve. I ran, not walked, not drove, not bussed, not subwayed, I ran to my local Costco in Rego Park tonight at 5:30. I arrived, breathless, only to be told by the overzealous doorway employees that Costco had closed at 5.

No compassion. No exceptions. I asked if I could just buy the 1 can of Kirkland coffee I had just RUN from 67th Avenue (check your maps, it's a good distance to run)to buy from Costco. I was denied.

Many many other people arrived asking to just run in and buy a cake or drinks to celebrate New Year's but they were heartlessly and overzealously turned away. One other customer even said he had called and the automated recording told him Costco was open until 6. The door guard said, "Sorry, that was a corporate oversight."

Awful way to ring in the new year at Costco!

Thanks for nothing. I went upstairs to buy coffee from the hardworking employees at German-run Aldi.
