Great Place for Family Stay – July 8 – July 13, 2009 we had a wonderful experience at this location. The staff was great! On our first night, there was a problem with the TV. We called maintenance and they came right away and replaced our TV with a new one. When the TV went out it left a smell, dying TV smell. We asked if it was possible to change rooms. They sprayed this room and we could have stayed but they had a bellman there in less than 10 minutes to move us to another room. They were very professional, kind and accommodating - no questions asked. The staff is to be commended. Throughout our stay the restaurant staff beginning with the hostess, waiters and food prep staff went out of their way to make each meal pleasant. We had breakfast there every morning. My son looked forward to going; it was a very warm and inviting atmosphere - that says a lot coming from an eleven year old. The food was great as well. Housekeeping did an outstanding job. Our room was cleaned expertly every day. We requested extra towels and they were left daily without an additional request. The room was spotless upon our return. The bellmen were very helpful and were always asking ways to assist the guest. The concierge ladies did their job. They however did not exhibit the same warmth as the other hotel staff. There was a gentleman there on Saturday who was very helpful and greeted and assisted us with the same kindness as the other staff. The ladies did their job and were efficient, but were not helpful. They answered your questions with yes, no and I don't know responses. They also had nothing available from the hotel highlighting daily events in the city as most hotels offer. I had already mapped out most of our trip so it was not a problem, but I guess I was looking for the inside scoop from someone who lived in the city and who had experience directing guest to less advertised places. Overall we would rate our stay as the best hotel experience to date. We travel frequently and have stayed in many grand and great hotels, but the service and staff at this location are superior. Thanks for making our vacation memorable.
Horrible – Never again. Check-in was a nightmare. We were told we would have to wait until 4;30 for the room that was assigned to us (check-in is supposed to be at 3)--unless we agreed to take a different (code for "less desirable") room. Room itself was filthy. There were black hairs on the white sheets and on the bathroom floor. Also the bathroom did not have a fan so the entire suite smelled damp and musty. Not recommended.
Location is excellent – The location of the hotel is excellent! I thought the decor and room was
a little shotty for the cost and the service was ok. No one offered to help
us in to the building with our bags at the curb.
The front desk staff is wonderful! Overall, if you can stay somewhere
else a little more upscale for the same price...go there. However,
the location is phenomenal.
Great View! – Stayed in a Times Square view room on the 35th floor. Wonderful view of Times Square! Lots of space. Definately would stay again. Much better then the rooms at the more expensive Marriott Marquis and better views as well.
THE place to stay when visiting New York City – Extremely convient, safe- even at night, and you're within walking distance of everything. They told me at the front desk that they just remodeled and it shows! Beautiful rooms and tons of space. I love love the beds- so fluffy and comfortable.
Great hotel! – Loved my stay at this hotel. Beds are wonderful and the suites are great way to make you feel like home even when you are travelling. The concierge was great too!
Luxury beds and deluxe amenities help business folks and families sleep well at this comfortable mid-level chain. – In Short
Warm chocolate chip cookies greet every guest at this Hilton-owned hotel, a friendly touch that fits in with the hotel's business-casual attitude. Another way Doubletree helps its guests relax is the Sweet Dreams bed, which features a pillow-top mattress, high thread-count linens, down comforters and lots of jumbo pillows. Amenities also include high-speed Internet access, in-room coffeemaker and complimentary newspaper; properties also typically feature a swimming pool, a fitness center and a range of meeting facilities.
Very clean and comfortable hotel in the heart of Times Square. Justin in the lounge was the antithesis of the cold-rude New Yorker. He was totally welcoming and hospitable. He's one of their biggest assets. What a nice person to make a tourist feel at home. I wholheartedly recommend this hotel.
BEST PLACE TO STAY – AMAZING location right on Times Square. The view from our room was right out of a postcard. I've stayed in other areas, and Times Square is the best. Everything is within walkable distance and there are great restaurants nearby. The Doubletree completely exceeded my expectations. Beautiful rooms, phenomenonal service; all at a great price.
Great Location! – Can't beat the location! Wonderful for walking to all of the theaters. Two room suite. Nice to have the sofa and chairs to relax on after a long day of sightseeing. Got the 2 room suite for the same price as one room at the Marriott across the street. The elevators are fast and never had a wait. Friendly staff and concierge. Definitely would stay there again.
