Cheap and Tasty in Chelsea
by britpoptart
I have been going to Pepe Giallo for several years. Great for a supper after visiting the chelsea galleries. You will pay just over $10 for a yummy pasta dish, and the wine, which is good though not superwonderfulamazing, is just $5 a glass! The coffee is also very very good, which is hard to find in a new york restaurant. The back garden is pretty too. This is not a shishi gourmet place with dishes you've never tried before that will knock your socks off, but I promise you cannot find better Italian at this price.
great food, cheap wine
by btpnyc
Pepe Giallo is one of my new favorites. Great food, inexpensive prices, a nice little garden in back, very friendly service. Most importantly, both the house red and the house white are delicious and come in big, cheap carafes. Il Mulino it's not, but for great food and good, cheap wine, Pepe Giallo is worth coming to west chelsea for.
- Pros: inexpensive, great food, great wine
JUST OK!!!

Great place to go and have an 'inexpensive' meal with 'cheap' wine, too. DO NOT GO FOR THE SERVICE. YOU WILL NOT BE PLEASED. The food is okay, nothing great. However for one appetizer, three entree's, one shared dessert, and two bottles of white, the bill was a cool $100!!
- Pros: inexpensive, garden patio
- Cons: food, service
