Best Cheap Bar in Manhattan. When I'm with a group that's looking to pinch nickels, Tempest is where I go. The day bartender, Arielle, usually stays around till game time and is the best i've ever seen; oozes charm. Good price on beers, lets you bring in your own food, and an eclectic, but civil, crowd.

Great for groups, terrific on a budget. One of the best cheap bars in Manhattan. It sells pints for $4 but it actually has a pretty nice atmosphere.The pool table adds a lot to it, and there are always some serious dart matches going on. Some of my favorite bartenders anywhere. It's a great place to go when there are 15 of you and you want to take over a place, not mesh in. My favorite place before a Garden event.
