Tips for Mustang Sally's

Solid place for after work, pre-game, late night. Mustang Sally's is a place I seem to drop in whenever I pass by later in the day. The biggest appeal of all is the bartenders, who always give you a big hello and make you feel they're glad you came. The tap system is first-rate, and the tap beer is always fresh and cold, and there's a nice line-up to choose from. Very solid pub fare, and the dinner specials are almost always a great choice.

Great food and drink spot before/after MSG events. The food here is tasty, the drinks even tastier, and you cant beat the location. Its conveniently located by MSG and many theaters. Mustang Sally's has been serving New Yorkers for many years and will for years to come. Highly recommended.

$16 Microwaved Chicken Dinner Special – Craptastic.
Yes, it was microwaved though was assured by the waitress they 'don't microwave anything.' Really? Because my beaming white, rubbery, tasteless excuse for poultry is not only absent on any grill marks (unlike the grilled chicken salad across the table from me) but was absent of any markings that would lead one to believe it had sat on a flat top or in a pan or even maybe a broiler. I'd might have suspected it steamed if it weren't bone dry.
You see Ms. Waitress I have worked in many a restaurant. I have cooked on many a line and your chicken was not only microwaved but you suck and Mustang Sally's sucks for trying to pass that fowl-flavored shoe sole as a dinner special.

love it. i have been to mustang sally,s a few times mnow, oince before heading to msg. love dit, great atmosphere, great service and great happy hour, happy hour 3pm till 7, cosmos & apple martiinis $5 loved it

Beers before the game. This is a great place to grab a couple of drinks before a game or concert at MSG. It's walking distance to MSG, the staff and service is usually pretty good

Had some good group events here!. Have hosted some good group events here including a large Super Bowl party for my New York Giants Meetup Group and some Mets game watching events with New York Mets Meetup Group.

Excellent Bar Crowd after MSG Events.
getting 5-stars because was there on a monday night after my volleyball match... was watching some monday night football (lots of tv's here), and the bartender was so chill (nice old dude) and just got us a free round of booze.. a chill spot, it was empty since it was a monday so i cant say how it is during the other nights.
ok so went back there to watch some sunday football.. if your game is on national tv, they have sound, other games that run of the satellite wont. didnt really matter, this place was exactly what i was looking for on that sunday, nothing too crowded, quick service, and lots of big tv's.. boom

Avoid.
Somehow managed to go to Mustang Sally's twice in a week - once on a Saturday (took my family out to lunch) and later on in the week for meeting with a client (his choice - I kept quiet). Was disappointed both times. The food is good, nothing fantastic, but the service and management is horrendous.
On my first visit, the food took over an hour to arrive. When I asked the waitress what was holding the order up, she claimed ignorance and then quickly (and repeatedly) ran away. When I asked to speak to the manager so I can complain, I was told she would arrive shortly. When the manager failed to arrive, on the way out I asked the hostess and was told that both the manager and owner left.
Second time, pretty much the same thing. Late food, lousy service, absent management. No way to run a restaurant. Avoid.

Great Burgers. We came here after the Kathy Griffin concert as did many people. We waited by the hostess desk for a long time & had to go find her. They didn't ssem to be ready for a crowd, their was also only 1 waitress and although she was nice, she couldn't handle the rush after 10 pm. but with that said, this place had the best burgers I've tasted in a long time. So Juicy. Great music playing and alot of TVs. Just 3 short blocks from MSG, it's perfect for a late night stop.
