“realize that I'll buy a coffee or a danish but they don't make me and this store has prime seating and the place is always so clean and the service is incredible.”
“While they have the most varied selection in Manhattan, this place isn't as great as it's made out to be.”
“An awesome store w/ all the comics you could want!”

SCAMMERS. Tried to buy the latest issue of FM #252, looking specifically for an incentive cover by Stout. Was told they had one in their staten Island store & they could send it to nyc. Great. I called SI store, described cover. they confirmed they had it & would send it to NYC by 10/29 (this is on 10/27) I get to nyc store only to find regular issue in the bag. Obviously someone in store got wind of the potential value of this issue & retained it (or sold it or will sell it later) claimed ignorance of cover difference. This is a store that stocks old Warren FM's & knows full well what their merchandise is worth, or perhaps the only person who knows caught wind of my potential purchase & sabotaged it, since the store is obliged to sell magazines at cover price.…
Great Selection. I just want to say that whoever said that nothing in life is free is wrong. I've sat for hours and hours on end reading books at this store. I realize that I'll buy a coffee or a danish but they don't make me and this store has prime seating and the place is always so clean and the service is incredible. I would recommend going here just to lose yourself in a good book and a quite atmosphere. I know QUITE, its a word heard very rarely in this city. Go ahead and give it a try you'll love it.…
An exhaustive comics store for almost everyone, from superhero groupies to independent 'zine addicts..
In Short
Despite its odd location, the store houses a huge selection of comics for just about everyone. Readers can find comprehensive collections of all the major superhero publishers,
along with a thorough selection of imports, independents, undergounds, adult comics, art-house comics, graphic novels and historical anthologies. More importantly, the store is spacious, well-lit, open late, and everything is neatly alphabetized (a rarity in such stores) along white metal shelves.…
Yay TinTin comics. I used to work a block away from the midtown comic store last year & I was sorta dissapointed when they told me they didn't have any Tin Tin Comics. Some of the staffs had no idea who Tin Tin was. Today, when my boyfriend & I were walking to MACY's, I noticed Sally from Nightmare before Christmas in one of the store's window. That's how we discovered Jim Hanley's Universe, Where Art and Literature Meet. They had more than 15 Tin Tin comics. I bought "cigars of pharaoh" & "the castafiore emerald". I know I'm going back to the store soon to buy more. It will be like walking down the memory lane with this new collection because growing up in Kathmandu, Tin Tin is quite famous. Did I mention TinTin actually visits Kathmandu(Nepal) in "TinTin in Tibet" ?…
Awesome store!. I love Jim Hanley's because they sell everything from comics to books, statues, toys, and t-shirts. And it's not just mainstream stuff, they carry merchandise from indies and small press. It's a fun place to browse through because I always see stuff there I don't see anywhere else. The staff is knowledgeable and pretty friendly. Wednesday is the best day to shop there as it's new comic day and they often have signings with writers and artists. Definitely recommended to comic fans and pop culture enthusiasts.…
