“great place to buy or repair jewelery”
“The price was exceptionably reasonable, I had it valued on our return to the UK and it was confirmed that I had paid less than it was valued at.”
“load of rubbish, the following two reviews are staff related to cover up the poor quality this jewellers offer.”
“Back in the UK I have had the ring valued only to discover the diamond is of such poor quality that the ring is only worth about USD 1750.00.”
Beautiful Watches and Excellent Customer Service!. I recently had the opportunity to visit Diamonds & Dials, and I am very glad I did! They carry my favorite watch brand INVICTA, and they have a beautiful selection that is very reasonably priced. The two gentlemen who assisted me, Adam and Arno, were both very helpful and pleasant to work with. I would recommend Diamonds & Dials to anyone looking to buy a new watch.
I am appalled..
My husband went here to have his watch fixed a month ago. It took them forever to fix it, and it broke again the day he got it back.
He took it back to the store, and they assured him they would fix it again for no charge. Three weeks later, having NEVER called my husband to tell him when it would be finished (my husband had to call multiple times to ask when it would be done), he came back to pick up the watch. On his way out, he asked for a receipt, as the watch had not been properly fixed the first time and he wanted to ensure that this would not happen again. He was told, quite rudely, that he could not have a receipt. When he asked why, he was told to get out of the shop.
My husband is an Episcopal priest. They threw a priest out of their store for asking, quite politely, if he could have a receipt for the watch they failed to fix the first time around.
If I had the money, I would rent out a billboard in Times Square telling people to avoid this store. It's the worst place of business I've ever encountered. Sketchy, rude, almost criminal. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE.
This is a complete distortion of the truth. This man brought his watch iin just to have a stem and crown replaced which needed to be ordered, we explained it could take some time. When he broke it a second time we gladly fixed it again at no charge. A charge we absorbed. Stem and crown replacements on an old watch are not warranteed but we did do it at no charge to make him happy. When he came in to pick it up he was hostile and He said he should get his money back because of his wait and inconvenience, this is completely unreasonable, then, this so called Priest began screaming and yelling at customers in the store using language not belieing his surprising position as a man of G-d. He should be ashamed of himself. We do hundreds of repairs every week and do all we can to make our customers happy. He is the one who should be ashamed,
Beautiful jewelry--great prices--A+ customer service. I had a great time looking around in Diamonds & Dials last weekend! They have so much beautiful jewelry in addition to all their watches! I was treating myself to an early birthday present and the only thing i had trouble with was choosing which bracelet i wanted! I love jewelry with beautiful and colorful gemstones and they had so many--yay! I ended up getting a a bracelet with aquamarine stones and I couldnt be happier about it! Highly recommend Diamonds & Dials if you love nice jewelry!
Gorgeous Jewelry--Great Customer service. My husband and I were doing some Christmas shopping on 34th Street around Penn Station (Macy's area) and we stopped in Diamonds & Dials. I have been looking for a watch for some time now, but have been wanting to find the perfect one; well, i found my perfect Movado watch at Diamonds & Dials!! I really couldnt be happier with it!! Adam helped us and he was delightful b/c he wasnt pushy, just helpful. He let me try on a ton of watches and never seemed annoyed at how long I took to finally decide between two watches!! Im so thankful for that b/c everytime i need to know the time, i look down at my perfect watch and am thrilled!! They have beautiful jewelry, also, and from what I know, they are very reasonably priced. My husband and I will definitely return here for all our future jewelry purchases. We just felt extremely comfortable and like we were in good hands with Adam.

Enagenment Ring.
Rob and Alison were together for 8-1/2 years before getting engaged. They started looking at rings in December of 2008.
Alison found a jewelry store close to where she works (Diamonds & Dials - 34th & 6th), and told Rob that they should take a look while keeping an open mind (January 21, 2009). The ring seen was in the window and Alison fell in love with it, but was under the impression they were going to keep looking.
However, less than one week later (January 27, 2009), Alison was walking down 34th Street to get her mom a birthday card and passed Diamonds & Dials. The ring was not in the window, so needless to say, she was a little bummed out. She called Rob immediately and he said not to worry, "we were going to look this weekend."
Rob and Alison met and Grand Central Terminal after work, to get on the train and get ready to go out for her mom's birthday. Rob handed her a drink (it was a rough day) and had a dozen pink roses (he said they were for her mom). They got on the train and up to Rob's house. Alison was sitting on the couch talking to Rob's brother Mike. Rob comes out to the living room and says "I know you're bummed about the ring being gone, but there is some good news" Rob pulled out the box, got down on one knee and asked "Will you marry me." Alison could not believe it! She almost fell off the couch. So the response went something like this...."Really?...Oh my God, Really? Really?...YES!!!"
Thank you so much for everything Armo and Adam. This is the engagement ring I always dreamed of!!!
Affordable and Customer Service Oriented. A Great Buy!!. I am from the Baltimore area and I was in NY for the weekend visiting family when I noticed a watch in the window at Diamonds and Dials that I wanted a closer look at. Store Manager Jimmie was more than patient showing me multiple watches and giving me honest information about the various brands. I ended up purchasing two watches that day and couldn't be more happy with that decision ever since. OPEN ANOTHER STORE IN BALTIMORE PLEASE!
Shoddy Merchandise, No Refunds. Went to get my watch battery replaced. 2 months later, the battery stops working. I bring in my receipt, but I'm told "No Refunds." They refused to even give me a new battery. Avoid at all costs.
Mixed bag....
My husband and I shopped around for my engagement ring and this happened to be the last store we went in. They were able to custom make the ring I had in my head and the lady we dealt with seemed nice (if a bit frazzled). After a LONG time in the shop, talking about prices, sizes etc etc etc, we agree on a price and go to pay. Jimmy wrote out the receipt (by hand, seemed a bit less than legit to me) and on it, instead of the stone we had asked for, he wrote down an inferior stone (VERY inferior but the same colour). I called him on it and it came to light that the stone the first woman had shown us was not what we'd asked for - Jimmy said it was because she was 'part time and not that bright' but who knows - it may be standard practice. In the end, we got a great price because we agreed to pay the cost of the inferior stone but get the one we actually wanted so it worked out in our favour.
Overall, my advice would be make sure you do all your research before you go in, know what you want, know what it's worth and if you get a good deal great. If not, leave. Also, make sure you negotiate every price, the ticket price meant nothing in my experience.
It's true they don't offer any kind of refund so don't take any risks with them - I had my ring custom made and although it turned out ok in the end (I absolutely love the ring, it's exactly what I wanted, I went in a couple of times to pick stones that Jimmy had ordered etc so it is a perfect fit), I wouldn't recommend having something custom made there if you're a new customer. If something had gone wrong or if I hadn't liked it, I don't know if they would have helped fix it.
I would buy there again but only because I know exactly what to expect and because I only go in to a store after I have decided exactly what I want and know what it's worth.
GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY JEWELLERS AND FRIENDLY STAFF. My husband, daughter and myself were on a long weekend visit to New York - a few months earlier, I had lost my engagement ring and my husband promised that for my 50th birthday he would buy me a replacement - we came across Diamonds & Dials and were very, very pleased with the ring I chose - it was a 14 ct gold diamond solitaire. The price was exceptionably reasonable, I had it valued on our return to the UK and it was confirmed that I had paid less than it was valued at. We also bought a pair of gold diamond set earrings for myself and my daughter and were again delighted with the price. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I never take my ring off - I bathe with it on, wash the dishes with it on without wearing rubber gloves (not too good for my hands I admit) and the diamond is still set and sparkles like new. I do not work for, neither am I related to any of the staff at this store - this review is genuine. We are visiting New York again over the Easter vacation and intend to visit Diamonds & Dials again.
