Simply The Best. Barbara is incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and enthusiastic. It took years of research for me to end up in her office, and all the hesitation and angst I had about permanent hair removal vanished the moment I met her.

Barbara will start you with a mini-consultation on the phone. She's detail-oriented and wants to ensure that you're well-prepared for your initial visit.

When you meet her in person, the first things you'll notice are her flawless skin (A+ for someone who's going to be working on yours), her perfectly-coiffed hair, and her impeccable taste in accessories (attention to detail...check)!

After my first visit, we quickly got into a regular flow. I saw permanent results and a significant change after only a few visits (when it comes to my face, Barbara has her work cut out for her)! Your own results will, of course, vary depending on your own hair growth patterns, hair type, and hair removal history.

Barbara works efficiently in your scheduled time. She manages her own business, which means she spends less on overhead - and those savings get passed on to us, the clients. Expect that Barbara will have to take a call or two (on a headset) during your session, but she is ever professional - never stops working on me, never stops paying attention to the task at hand. And, if you ever have to take a work call during your session, she's cool with it.

I love that Barbara leaves nothing to chance. She respects my schedule, and confirms everything - she is always on time, and if she's running a little late, she lets me know in advance. She's great with texting, which makes it so easy to get in touch with her and vice versa. I can't stress this enough - the best way to communicate with Barbara is by phone.

Barbara is passionate about her work, and enjoys making people's lives better through electrolysis. I look forward to my weekly visits with her (it's so relaxing during treatment that I have been known to fall asleep on occasion). Good luck on your hair removal journey; if you go to Barbara, it will be a short one!

Rude. I heard good things about her and so excitedly emailed to find out about rates so I could budget my treatments. She responded to me with a very long and rude message about how she was too busy to take the time to explain her processes to me. For someone who complains that she's too busy to answer emails, she sure took the time to write a whole lot about not having the time to answer questions (she was upset about having to defend her process or something, which confused me since all I wrote were two sentences about rates).

She lost me as a customer for sure; she should really hire a receptionist if she's so busy with constant business.

Crazy Woman. She herself, the electrolysist, schedules, confirms and cancels all of her appointments, no receptionist. She calls and texts to confirm & change appointments, if she doesn't hear back from you she CANCELS your appointment. I confirmed my appointment and then showed up the day of and she told me she cancelled my appointment because she did'nt hear back from me. She claims she texted me twice and left me a voicemail. I told her I never got the texts or the voicemail. She said "is your number xxx-xxx-xxx? 2x. I said no that is not the right number. She flipped out on me! She told me she couldn't see me, she had someone else and then BERATED me for not getting back to her. How many times do I need to confirm? I wouldn't have showed up had I received her texts and voicemail. She's booked for weeks and frankly I don't want to give my money to someone who disrespected me like that. Also during our consulation she talked too much, we barely had time to test my skin for electrolysis. She also complained about her business to me which I found to be very unprofessional. She may be very skilled at what she does but her bedside manner is atrocious. She is unorganized, unprofessional, talks too much, and rude!

a good friend & a real professional. Through my visits at Barbara's electrolysis, she and I have become good friends. Her stories during the sessions are really enjoyable. Our talks range from movies, entertainment gossips to personal relationship issues. Time really flies in her office!

She is also very professional in her work: always on top of everything. She would get back to you asap and try her best to make it work for you. I love how she is technological advanced, and not afraid to try new things. She actually uses texts to communicate! (Which is something the young ones like myself appreciate very much.)

The quality of her work has been talked about in the other reviews, and YES they are totally true. She is thorough and is an artist in her treatments. I am lucky to have found her service.

Amazing!! WORTH EVERY PENNY!. I normally don't write reviews (this is actually my first) but Barbara has been an absolute lifesaver and I had to return the favor in some way. After going to electrolysis for years and years, I still had a beard growing in (not a good look on a young girl). I was extremely discouraged and spent a lot of time cursing my Middle Eastern roots...until I found Barbara. I started treatment with her in February, and just 2 months later, I already see a fraction of the hair growing back in. That is something that wasn't achieved in the 5 years I spent with another electrologist. In retrospect, I'm sure the other electrologist made a slight dent, but Barbara came in and saved the day. I am so much more confident now, and I owe it all to her. I can finally pull my hair back in a ponytail and not worry about the stubble that is growing back on my neck, because there isn't any more stubble!! I'll admit electrolysis, in any form with anybody, is expensive, but Barbara is worth EVERY PENNY. As an added bonus, she is a pleasure to be around and appointments always fly by. Take it from someone that has suffered tremendously with unwanted hair, she is the only way to go!

Absolutely the best electrolysist!. I have been a client of Barbara Leibowitz's for years. I can truly say that she is the best electrolysist you can find. Electrolysis is both a science and an art, and Barbara is an expert at both. She is extremely professional, highly conscientious and incedibly skilled at what she does. Also, she seems to really love her work and making people happy. And, as an added bonus, she is a joy to work with. She is easy to talk to, empathetic and always goes out of her way to make her clients feel comfortable and at ease. I truly cannot recommend Barbara highly enough. If you want the best - you will not find better than Barbara.

It works guys.. As a man, I initially thought it was a bit vane of me to go for hair removal, but the hair on my shoulders wasn't slowing down so I called Barbara after a female friend of mine recommended her. She instantly made me feel at ease with not only with her sense of humor but also her confident professionalism. After a few months my shoulders were clear of those nasty little stick-out hairs. That was years ago. Now she's working on my ears. Do it guys. She's great.

Best Electrolysis in NYC Hands Down. Barbara Leibowitz educates you about the electrolysis process, answers any and all questions, puts you at ease, has a better bedside manner than anyone I know and the results are AMAZING!!!!!! I cannot reccomend her highly enough. I am new to electrolysis and I am just sad that I waited for so long to do this. I'm just happy that I found the best person for treatment.
