“terrible customer service”
terrible car service. I live on the lower east side, alllll they way east, so there are no yellow cabs available. When a car is readily available, everything runs smoothly. The drivers are nice and the cars are nice enough. Prices are reasonable. However, if it's raining or a busy Saturday night, the dispatcher still says "5 minutes," but 5, 10, 15 minutes later, no car. Repeat calls either get another "5 minutes," gets put on endless hold, or get hung up on. Standing outside in the rain, getting hung up and never getting a car service has ruined my plans on more than one occasion, and for the Delancey Taxi gets NO STARS. Would be happy to get a number for another LES taxi if anyone has one!
DON'T PROMOTE CUSTOMER ABUSE/DON'T USE DELANCEY.

Saturday, Sept. 11: I make 5am pick up reservation to take me to NEWARK airport
Sunday, September 12th: 5:15am, I'm sitting in a Delancey car fading in and out of sleep as it is so early.
6:00am: I get out of the car, make my payment...get inside and quickly realize I'm at JFK airport!!!!!!!! The driver has taken me to the wrong airport and I have a flight to LONDON at 8:00....I'm in the wrong STATE!!!!!!!!
6:15: I'm now in a cab (getting ready to pay over $125.00 for my fare across to Newark) and I call Delancey to make sure my card is not charged. I ask dispatcher where my reservation was for and he responds "Newark". When I tell him about the mistake, he blames me, says I told the driver to take me to JFK and then proceeds to curse me out before hanging up the phone.
I was shocked and have now made it my mission to make sure no one ever uses their car service. Please tell ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS. I just emailed the president of the company (and everyone who has bad experiences should do the same...his email is president@delanceynyc . com). Delancey is a disgrace to everything that is good about New York.
Rude Dispatcher; Lost my longtime business. I was a long term client of Delancey and called them almost every day to get me to work. The cars varied, and could be nice or a bit dirty-- that didn't bother me that much. And the drivers I found, after long experience, to be mostly pretty good and polite. The Dispatcher, however, is a nightmare, and yells at clients. He's a total jerk, and they won't be getting any more of my money. It is totally unacceptable to yell at clients
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. I called Delancey to book a car for 5-6 hours. I agreed to pay an hourly rate for the exclusive use of the car for that time. The car that showed up was flithy. I had lots of appointments and errands to run and several were in midtown. I told the driver I would be an hour or two and that he could grab some lunch. I left some of my belongings in the car while I went to the errands and appointments. When I returned, someone had stolen my cashmere scarf out of the back of the car. Turns out the guy had picked up another passenger while on my dime who had filtered through my stuff and taken what they wanted. When the call was made to complain, the manager was extremely rude and hostile and refused to do anything. I would strongly advise against ever using this service, especially when there are so many others to choose from. I would not give the service any stars but the program has forced me to give one.

Let me add one more voice to all those others who've been talked back to, hung up on, etc. by the thoroughly unpleasant and uninterested band of dispatchers.
Once upon a time the company was reliable and the drivers fine. Perhaps the drivers still are but I'll never know. No one needs that kind of hostility and antagonism--especially when trying to do business with a company.
Absolutely unreliable, will let you wait,then hang up on you. They were the only ones to drive during the big snowstorm a few years back, and my friend caught her plane at JFK. I started using them after that. However, the last time I called them there was no car when I showed up in front of my building. I called them and the operator told me that the car waited for ten minutes and left (which could not be true, as I was only 5 mins late). They had my number, but never called to warn me. I doubt a car came at all. I was going to miss my flight. The dispatcher told me to get a yellow cab. Terrible company.
Despicable dispatchers. Don't waste your time unless you want to be hung up on or berated by these a-holes.
I love delancy. I've used delancy car service a few times I call and they came within seconds they are totally cheap and reliable
Prompt, considerate & nice driver.
While the dispatcher may not be the most dedicated customer service person (hey, they're answering a million calls and really don't have the time to go above and beyond for you), they're good where it matters.
The driver showed up super quickly and promptly, even waited for me for a good 20 minutes, and helped me load and unload heavy furniture (which he didn't need to do, especially considering that I had a male friend to help me). The rate he quoted me was also excellent.
All in all, a great experience. I'd def use them again.
never again. I've used these guys for years and overlooked their rudeness, until now. I called for a call and waited outside for it for 25 minutes (I was told it would be there in 10). When I called to find out when I might expect to get the car I was told the driver waited for 10 minutes and he then hung up on me. I really needed the car that day and I was very rudely left hanging. thanks a lot!
