A great (albeit small) store with lots of fun accordion-related stuff to buy (like the accordion cards by R.Crumb) with a cool display window.

A half year ago I purchased a great used accordion from Main Squeeze and began taking lessons from Walter Keuhr (who plays in the lounge band 'The Last of the International Playboys). I couldn't even read sheet music and had never played an instrument before, but Walter's a kick-ass teacher (as well as bandleader to the Main Squeeze Pigtail Orchestra-- an all female, all accordion, pigtail sporting, skirt and boot wearing, 18 piece accordion orchestra... a *must* see.) The "hour-long" lessons are relaxed and fun, and usually wind up going into gratis overtime... If you're interested in anything accordion or just want to check out a really cool shop on the lower east side then stop in at Main Squeeze. (Plus there's a great donut shop around the corner...)
Pros: hard to find items, affordable lessons, fun place
Cons: closed saturdays
