In Short
From hummus and doner to tabouleh and every other pita-stuffer under the Turkish sun, this Houston Street stalwart whips up Middle Eastern standards. The kebab window, which opens onto Orchard Street, does business in the wee hours with the neighborhood's bar crowd. The rest of the time, the small seating area crams with customers looking for an affordable falafel fix. Warning to the gentle-palated: When they say "hot" sauce, they mean it.

Oh my godness. where do i start..I love this place. it has the best turkish food i've ever seen.. the gyro's, kebab's, and the desserts are GREAT! People that know what real food tastes like should go here...All this comments that you guyz wrote aren't true..This place has quality and it is somewhere you can go any time of the day. How many places can you find like Bereket? Let me answer that: NONE! Great service and really nice FOOD! Recommended 100%.

It doesn't look like much, but this is a great little turkish kebab place. The food is fresh and delicious. There is no table service - you just order from the counter but there are a few tables inside for you to sit at. It is open late, so it is great if you are in the East Village and need a late night snack. I like the doner kebabs and the lentil soup. The don't always have it, but they also make a leek stew that is really fantastic.

As being aTurkish guy, I know how kebab and doner should be!. They are trying to screw you by serving the last part of Doner "cold" and "very small bad pieces". Also it was very dirty. WhenI think about these issues I never go again.. It is a very expensive "fast bad food" place
