“love this place, it's a relaxed, fun place to hear great music, and they do almost always have great music.”
“My favorite music venue and bar in the city!”
“The Living Room is my favorite venue in NYC because of the great variety of performances.”
“It's a great place to just hang out and chill and of course listen to great music.”
“The acoustics sound amazing and has a great beer selection and friendly service.”
“The shows that are not free are not expensive either, the tickets usually average at about $10.”
I was bored Wednesday night and stumbled into the Living Room. Seriously I have been missing out not frequenting this place regularly. I heard that they’re moving in August, which is super sad, but in the mean time I plan on seeing more awesomely named bands like Raccoon Fighter.
I usually don't write reviews, but after my amazing night at The Living Room, I just had too. I wanted to give a new bar a try and I was walking by and saw a music lineup that had familiar names on it. When i found out there was no cover and it was just the drink minimum, I knew it was a win-win situation. I spent some time at the bar in the front and made a few friends and had some drinks. I went to the back room to check out the live music and the performances and they blew my mind. I've already planned to meet some of the friends I made back here next week.
Love this place!! Cheap drinks (I came here with some friends for happy hour, the beer was only $3, happy happy hour for real), the staffs were really friendly and the atmosphere was great, plus free live music. Def will return as often as I can. Recommended!!
A couple of my friends told me about the cheap drinks and live music. There’s a nice bar when you first enter and the music was in a bigger back room behind some curtains. Me and my mate stayed for a couple of bands and had a few drinks. I thoroughly enjoyed my night & definitely plan on making this place a regular spot.
This place is awesome! There's a front bar area that always has a great playlist on and in the back, there is free live music! Most of them are local musicians that I've never heard before, but all sound pretty good.
I could definitely imagine myself being
a regular here. What
a great location, and the live music every night is amazing.
Also cheap cheap cheap! I love their happy hour!
I like trying new places in the city for drinks and live music, but I can't help but come back here over and over again. Maybe I'm a sucker for the nice ambiance with dim candles everywhere... but more likely I just love the cheap drinks and the great performers they always pick. The acts are not crazy loud, but nice to enjoy with a cold beer. I can relax but still socialize with my friends in a setting that feels like home. It's a gem!
great place!. Walk into an place that says "We have drinks, music, and a place for you to park it." Drinks were decently cheap on the block. Music was inviting and sound was even better. Wasn't crazy packed so I could grab a seat. I will definitely be bringing some friends out for a Saturday party night.
Overall Great Experience. When I moved to New York this fall and started to explore the city, one of the first places I checked out, on the recommendation of a few friends from back home, was The Living Room. I fell in love with the place right away - not only are the rooms charming and tastefully decorated with art and comfy couches, but the drinks are affordable, the music is usually free, and the sound is amazing. Ever since I've made it a regular choice for a fun night out.
Sounds good to me. I love seeing shows at The Living Room. I'm a bit of an audiophile so when I go to see music, an enthusiastic performance is not always enough. The Living Room seems to be one of a short list of local venues that have attentive sound guys that make bands sound amazing. The main room has a great natural sound for their genres, and the live mixes are consistently good. Really great room...
