Big-buck savings in a big-box toy store..
Toys R Us has earned a dubious rep as a chain store purveyor of branded, mainstream kid amusements, but when your 8-year-old wants a stuffed Pikachu, there's no better source.


Whether tastes in your household run to Barbies or board games, the selection is wide and the prices are good. High-volume sales means that shelves are well-stocked, but hot items--think video games and hand-held electronics--can (and do) sell out quickly.


It's not the source for idiosyncratic handmade toys or imported exotica, but for brand-name toys and games--and bargains on basic baby supplies, like formula, diapers and baby food--it's hard to beat. In-store specials and coupon savings help you hang on to even more of your hard-earned money.
