Trash and Vaudeville is a St. Marks shopping landmark with clothing designed to scare your mother. It has been the shopping destination of untold numbers of "alternative" notables, from Debbie Harry to John Sex. Looking for a way besides your green mowhak to express yourself? How about a transparent green vinyl Astroskirt? For the more timid, there's one of the cutest versions of the trendy Chinoiserie look: a blue and gold, or red and gold silk miniskirt with blue peek-a-boo pleats in contrasting colors.
One of my favorite places to go..

Yes, a lot of things are from Tripp NYC. But what people don't know is that this is where Tripp NYC is based. All the brands sold here last pretty long if taken well properly ;hence why I find myself coming back here every 2 weeks or so. If your looking for something post-apocalyptic, punk , psychobilly, cyber,etc, this is the store to go to for a great deal. ;D Don't forget about the rad accessories.!
- Pros: Wide Variety of Clothing
- Cons: Expensive
great shoes but not much else

Trash has some of the most interesting and moderately priced shoes of anywhere in the city. that being said that is all i'd buy there. if you are not some loaded hot topic lover you won't find much here. i feel like everything in the store these days is made by tripp, no variety whatsoever!
i will say that despite their appearence the staff is quite inviting.
in closing: shoes = YAY!
clothes = NAY!
- Pros: SHOES! staff is always nice and helpful
- Cons: no variety, clothes are exspensive
Jimmy Rocks Upstairs
by liamir
I took a friend from out of town there last night. We went downstairs first where the manager not only looked unhappy to be there, but wasn't very friendly. We strolled to the back shoe section, where my friend made a friendly joke about one of the boots. The salesguy gave us an annoyed look and then went to the back room without asking us if we needed help. Downstairs was a gloomy experience. HOWEVER, we went upstairs to where Jimmy is and it was completely different. We met and talked with Jimmy, he posed for pictures with us, and even let my 12 yr-old daughter try on a top hat that Slash autographed. Don't think it's just punk rockers that shop the store - I was suprised to see Jane Fonda's autographed pic behind the register. Upstairs w/Jimmy rocks!
