2 slices and a coke for $5 is a great deal, but the specialty slices are where it's at. Stick around and eat on the patio.
Not Good.
I go here once in a while since it's right near my apartment, but the pizza really isn't very good. The crust is almost always soggy. They're a bit skimpy on the cheese. And the staff is usually pretty slow (a couple times on the cell phone chatting with a friend).
Anyway I usually go here when I'm too lazy venture out to another pizzeria.
This pizza is to die for!. First of all, this place is all about the pizza. There isn't anywhere where to sit, there isn't even any air conditioning, there's no decor really, it's just a little kitchen and a counter, but that's the beauty of it. The pies are huge, FULL of ingredients, and very fresh. I had the chicken bbq pizza with crispy and tender chicken chunks throughout. My friend had the Hawaiin and was extremely pleased with the added level of care and creativity put into it. In his words "Hawaiin pizza usually has ham with the pineapple but these guys took it a step further and loaded this thing with bacon bits!"
Best Pizza. Used to live on the Upper Eastside of NYC, and couldn't wait to get down to the East Village to get a slice of the best pizza in NYC. This place was originally recommended by Cavo and Lionel of the Toasters. Throws all of the Original Rays out of the water. And don't forget the garlic salt.
Thieves. Not only is the pizza horrible, and the restaurant dirty, they are thieves. I gave them a $20 and they said I gave them a $5. I would not eat here again if they were the only pizza place in nyc.
Satisifies late-night food craving. Great for a late-night snack after a night of bar-hopping around EV. Better than the other pizza places a few blocks away, not too greasy.
Best Pizza in NYC. Hands down the best slice in New York. Whether you get the meat lovers or the plain or the chicken and tomato--doesn't really matter--it's always absolutely perfect... Been a favorite for the last 5 years...
Best Pizza in NYC. This is without question the best pizza in NYC. Make sure you go to the real Stromboli's on the corner of 8th street and 1st avenue.
thank God for Stromboli's. As was said before, Stromboli's is the perfect place to end your night. They're open well past 4am on the weekends and by that time the staff usually whip up a couple specialty pies to test out on the passing-through drunks. Hands down the best pizza in the East Village.
