Was it just a bad luck...?. We wanted to try some other Indian restaurants. Eventhough our friend had recommended us to stay around Lexington ave, since we were already in East Village, and also we always pass by the long line for this place, we decided to give it a try. The price was very cheap (This is always good!!) but we weren't impressed with the rest... Well, we didn't mind about the place being tiny. Actually, the decoration (with the crazy lights) was pretty cool we thought, and the staff was friendly, also. However, their food were very bland... Not much flavor to them, even when they say, "spicy!!" and Tandoori chikens were over cooked (coverd in charcoal)... We don't think our expectation was too high for a "cheap" meal, but it was their qualification that was too low to be at least reasonable for the price. (Because we know that there are great restaurants who serve wonderful meals for "cheap" prices)

And saving the worst part for last... My friend spent the rest of that night in her bathroom...so sorry...

We will go back to Lexington ave. for a good Indian food from the next time.

Cheap, fun meal. If you are looking for a cheap meal with interesting stories to follow, definitely go to Milon. I have never paid over $11 for an entire meal (drink, appetizer, main course, ice cream) here. The staff and decor are both highly entertaining-there are happy birthday banners all over the place as well as Christmas decorations. Also, expect a hug from a member of the staff on your way out.

Merry Christmas!. Unique ambiance with excellent food and good service. Tandoori chicken off the bone was excellent. Coconut soup was great. Found that the Bangladeshi competitors next door can become aggressive when promoting patronage at their restaurant though. Highly recommended for tourists because of the decor. I think that they filmed "Along Came Polly" with Jennifer Aniston and Ben Stiller here. Definitely worth checking out if you dont mind all the heckling of the homeless on the surrounding blocks.

ask for babu!. all the great reviews you read below are accurate. great simple cheap food. place is crazy cramped but fun all the same. they managed to fit about 15 people around 4 tables that normally would fit 10 comfortably. red chili pepper lights that hang so low you hit them each time you stand up. make friends with babu.

SO fun!. I LOVE this place! It is incredibly tacky & cheesy, but that's exactly what you come for, and it's also BYOB. They don't take reservations, so prepare for a wait. It's a tiny, cramped little restaurant, so you get to know your neighbors well, and you can't help but hit your head on the hundreds of chili lights dangling from the ceiling. The food is so good, and unbelievably cheap. Go for your birthday, and they'll turn on the disco lights and sing a Bhangra birthday song to you. So much fun!

Feast of the East..... One of my favorite restaurants! Tacky ambiance, dirt cheap prices, great food, BYOB, great service, what more can you ask for? Become a regular and you get "star" treatment :)

Great place to take your friends on their birthdays, just be prepared to tightly packed in. Its worth the trouble.....

UNBELIVABLE! ! !. Crazy lights, wacky decoration, BYOB, Cheapy Indian Food while hearing hip/reggae/house mix of indie songs... What else you can ask for. Fun to go there for someone's bday and dont forget the booze!!!

Bland and Tasteless. I am Indian and this is absolutely the worst Indian food I have ever had in my life. We ordered three different dishes and each one was blander than the next. Anyone who thinks this is good Indian food needs to try to real thing. The food is cheap and the atmosphere is crazy but the food really isn't worth the ten dollars you spend. They couldn't even manage to get the naan right, they brought us out pita bread trying to pass it off as naan. I would recommend trying any of the other Indian food chains in the city over this place.

So Good, So Weird!. If you ever remember saying to yourself "This is the weirdest place I have ever been to," you will be wrong! because you haven't been to Milon. The host even brought out a nice plate of "bread chips" for our group to eat. Our group of 12 could easily fill up the entire space of this place yet magically we fit in with another 30! Personal space was not to be had and several times during the night couples mistakenly groped the wrong leg. The food is tasty and cheap (very), the staff is willing to please, you can bring your own alcohol, and everyone will definitely feel much closer to each other by the end of the night. There is also a very interesting Indian birthday song and strobe lights (a waiter turning the switch on and off!).

Bottom line: Good food, cheap, and oh yeah, bring a camera!

Very Busy!. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants a change. This is the type of place you can go on a date (it'll definitely give you something to talk about), or just hangin' out with friends.

A friend of mines told me about this restaurant about 3 years ago...and i recommend it to my friends.

The chili pepers and red wall paper is hard on the eyes...but you get used to it!

Just remember your personal belongings when you leave, since it'll probably be on the floor.
