Stepping into Frank is like entering a sepia-toned photograph. Pinched lace peeks out from antique cabinetry, ornate mirrors overhang a marble bar, and stained glass illuminates a communal banquet table. But the quaint rummage-sale charm quickly transforms to a hip, lively vibe with the din of diners and the chaotic, sardine-can bar scene of waiting parties. Though the host is selective and aloof, accommodating servers somehow make their way through tightly packed tables. As for the food, Frank Prisinzano's home-style recipes pride themselves on fresh ingredients. The bruchetta's thick and crusty country bread readily soaks up the juices from its ripe tomato topping. Rigatoni pasta with slow-cooked ragu is served perfectly al dente, and shares a light, sauteed onion sauce with pillowy Parmesan gnocchi. Uncle Michael's tasty and heavy-as-gravy red sauce coats the polpetonne's giant meatball of spicy meat loaf. Feathery whipped cream saves the unsweetened apple tart, but goes best inside a delicious tiramisu.

Rigatoni Al Ragu was like heaven. Tons of food, delicious real Italian gravy, meaty. The wine choices are good too. Daily specials are always tasty. The down fall is it gets really crowded and there isn't a lot of space so you get bumped a lot, but that kind of adds to the feel that you're in someone's kitchen. Bravo!

I used to go to Franks with my lady for the black pasta special until she squirmed at the site of furry dudes around. I thought she was joking but I must have saw at least 3 with my own eyes. I loved this place so much that I decided to nonchalantly pull the waiter to the side and say "hey just to give you they heads up you have furry dudes running around in here you may want to look into doing something about" He said the come in from the garbage outside and didn't even apologized on behalf of the Restaurant. I will never go back although I will miss the black pasta...

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. While its always crowded, the atmosphere is always friendly, warm and inviting. The place is plastered with old pictures of an Italian family (the owner's?) and it honestly reminds me of somehting I'd see in my great aunt's house. Oh and the food? To die for. You must try the burrata mozarella and the fennel and parmesan salad. All of the pastas are great (especeilly the pumpkin ravioli). In fact, every meal I have had here has been amazing! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!
