Best fish and salads at a reasonable price in a neighborhood of high-priced fare.. My family and I eat at Mumbles at least once a week. It's a terrific restaurant for quality, price and variety in the very expensive Gramercy Park/Union Square area. It's a great spot for singles and couples but it's also family friendly. The Kid's Menu is first-rate and more than ample. In fact, once in awhile I forgo an order and eat what my children get. And the drink prices are still among the lowest in a neighborhood that boasts wine and martinis at $12-$15 a pop just a block or two away. For me, you can't go wrong with the fish and salads. Desserts are so-so but I don't like desserts. What's most refreshing is that the noise in the place is tolerable, due in part to a couple of small flat-screen TV's and a modestly quiet crowd of customers on most nights. No sports bar mentality here although you can still enjoy the games. If you're alone or with a small group, the bar is a great place to watch the Yankees or Mets play.

Wonderful food, sometimes too crowded, generous portions, great fish. We eat at Mumbles nearly 3 times a week and take home leftovers for the nights in between. I love the Specials that are fish dinners. Prices are reasonable. Most waitstaff are great, and the wine is good too.

Avoid this dump. Avoid this dump as you would avoid a steaming pile of dog sh*t. While the food was, at best, mediocre, the service was not only sub-par, it was unlike any other comparable dining experience I've had while living in NYC for about 10 years. The wait staff is either understaffed or mildly retarded. I'm not going back to this dump and I advise doing the same.

I love Mumbles!. This place is excellent. The food is delicious, the wine is great too. The service is usually pretty good as well. Try the burger. It's mouth-watering. And I would highly recommend the outdoor seating during warm weather. They'll let you bring you dog too.

Only drawback: the clientele. A lot of family types tend to go. I've seen them be loud, messy, and rude to the waitstaff. Other than that, yay Mumbles!!!

Bad Service, Bad Food. There's two things I expect at a restaurant anywhere?good service and good food. Mumbles has neither. The waiter was new and didn't know how to take an order, nor did he properly enter the order for the kitchen. We were a party of seven and seven meals came out wrong. We asked for the manager three times on the fouth attempt the manager came over and did as much as a rock; sat there and did nothing... Our food, wrong or not, was cold on a searing hot plate. My theory was/is... gratuity was paid for why do anymore work than necessary. FYI: Gratuity is a suggestion not mandatory law in New York State. Your party can decide on the proper tip at the end of the meal... we never do, in this case we did.

Great LOCALS Restaurant. I've only been here twice, but both times were well worth it! As an out of towner, we were looking for a nice, moderate priced local eatery and this was recommended. Food was outstanding, portions were immense (we ended up sharing). They have a creative chef! Hang on to him/her!!!

Yes, outside sitting was delightful. Looking forward to my next trip to NY and a visit to Mumbles.

Great Neighborhood Place. I live around the corner from Mumbles, and it has consistently been a fantastic, fun and comfortable destination. Their menu has plenty of options-from burgers & pizza to strawberry & brie salads & chicken pesto sandwiches. The prices are outstanding for the qulaity of food. Their large outdoor area is perfect for people watching and hanging out. It's nothing fancy, but you can go come here for a quiet brunch or on a Friday night with friends and it will always fit the bill.

Unrecognized Gem. This neighborhood favorite had gone largely unnoticed outside the neighborhood. Maybe that's a good thing for us locals. 4 stars for food--not in relation to a high end restaurant, of course, but for being consistently YUMMY. Versatile and reliable--there should be something on the menu to satisfy anybody. Easy on the wallet.

BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE. I WENT TO MUMBLES WITH THESE TWO GIRLS I HAD JUST MET. I WANTED TO BE IN A COMFORTABLE ATMOSHPHERE SINCE I DIDNT HERE GREAT THINGS ABOUT THE GIRLS I WAS SHARING MY EVENING WITH. WELL...LET ME TELL YOU NOT ONLY DID THE BAR TENDER STEVE GET THIS PARTAYY STARTED RIGHT HE GOT IT STARTED QUICKLY...WE DID SHOTS AND THE DRINKS WERE GREAT AND REASONABLY PRICES....MY NEW FRIEND KATE REALLY KNOWS HOW TO THROW THEM VODKA SHOTS BACK...VODKA SHOTS IS HER THANG. MY OTHER NEW PAL LISA REALLY ENJOYED HERSELF TOO. SHE EVEN MET THIS GREAT GUY NAMED OSCAR AND THEY ARE NOW DATING. THANKS MUMBLES...I'LL SEE YOU IN JANUARY FOR MY BIRTHDAY...CHEERS
