Good, Gooder, Goodest. Ok, so gooder and goodest aren't actually words but when you start out here, as soon as you walk in the door, it's good. As your visit progresses, it gets better and better!
Heartland Brewery's burgers!.
My first time at HB was a small group of friends. I tried a peach beer that was really good. The food was good, and the service was good.
Today as me and my husband were walking towards Union Square he mentioned that he was hungry. I remembered HB and suggested it. I'm sooo glad I did! He ordered the Bison burger with fries and I ordered the HB burger. I also tried one of the seasonal beers. Lunch was excellent! Both our burgers were incredibly delicious, we both agreed they were probably the best we've ever had. Our server, Liz, was super helpful and friendly and she got a nice tip because of it. Overall, a great experience and we'll definitely go back.
phenomenal service; great beer variety; fab location. the turkey burger wasn't bad just blah....otherwise nothing but raves. my server was fantastic--part therapist, part comedian, she was perfect. sorry i don't know her name or else i'd gush on her. i went in alone after shopping at the farmers market across the street. i was seated quickly and actually ordered a beer because i'd seen a lot of ads for their 'summer brew' which is apricot beer. as a total girlie girl, first, i don't like beer normally and secondly, there was no apricot flavor noted...but the french fries were delicious. the turkey burger was well-done which is not always the case and with turkey you want it done, so kudos on that. just NO flavoring on it which disappointed me. but again, i add more love in my kudos for that killer RAD cranberry ketchup. that stuff should be offered as an I.V. drip. it's that good! i could buy that cranberry ketchup on its own and slather it on food at home. the bill was handled quickly and the easy vibe was enhanced by how many families were dining around me. everyone just seemed really happy, both diners and servers. the runner who brought out my food was a hottie, too. great on the eyes but not friendly at all. with guys like that i could totally be a cougar. LOL this is just a great place to take someone who likes to drink. i love this place. it's a narrow-shaped room but i was in towards the back and it was a bit dark back there. if you want more natural lighting, i'd suggest you sit up near the entrance or better yet, outside! GO HERE. you will love it. the only reason i gave 4 not 5 stars was the lackluster turkey flavoring/seasoning and the fact that i don't like sports much and of course many TVs were blasting super hetero sports. this is not a bad thing against the place, just that for me a sports bar is not normally my cup of tea....which makes it all the more impressive that i would go here by choice. again, killer fries and top service. ENJOY.
great beer!. service was wonderful, beer was on point( the honey wheat!!) and these yummy chicken w/ blue cheese wraps- were just delicious..what a great way to wrap up a day of shopping!
Great Beer and Good food. I was at Heartland the other night and had a great time. I had fried pickles and Oatmeal stout. Both were really good, especially the beer. The service was pretty good too. I am defiantly going to make this regular spot for beer and a bite to eat.
Convenient spot for a drink near Union Square. I would recommend this restaurant for a beer and burger when in the Union Square area. It can get a little crowded, but the service is usually quite accommodating.
Good Food, Good Beer. My husband and I were going to see a show last night in the city and decided to go to Heartland Brewery in Union Square for a casual dinner... we were not disappointed. We came in and were meeted by the hostess and seated right away. Our waitress, I think her name was Mandy, was super friendly and attentive. We told her we were seeing a show and couldn't be late and she assured us we would be out on time. I was in the mood for a burger and she recommended the Buffalo Burger - med rare. It was great! Myabe one of the best burgers I have ever had. We also had some beers... The restaurant brews it's own beers so I wasn't sure what to pick but, after reading their beer menu I decided on the Indian River Light. It was delicious and refreshing! The overall experience was excellent and we will definitely be back there soon!
horrible horrible horrible....
I went with a friend for a late lunch the other day.. Arrived around 4p. Found a seat easily, service was fine enough. We started with the nachos, which sounded great on the menu (beef, cheese, veggie chili, jalapenos, etc). They arrived and the "beef" looked like it was ladeled out of a greasy vat that had been over a burner for the past couple hours. The nachos themselves were already wilted and moist. The entire platter looked like it was from the cooler, then into the microwave for 5mins.
I ordered a burger for the main course. A simple hamburger cooked medium with a side of fries and a side of ranch dressing. *sigh* Undercooked by about 5mins! It was rare at best (except for the inch around the edge). And the fries looked like they were more oil than potato. The ranch dressing was ok tho!
Maybe it was just because it was a downtime between rushes, but I've always thought that the quality should be there with Every dish out of the kitchen - regardless of the time of day. So if it's during a rush, maybe you'll have more luck., but otherwise, don't bother!
Well at least the beer was good, and thats all.. Yesterday was my first visit back to the Heartland in a couple of years, sad to say it will be a while before i go back. Upon our arrival(it was not crowded) the hostess just pointed to pick whatever table we wanted without setting any menus down. We sat there for 10 minutes until i got up and when to her and asked if i could 'borrow' 2 menus for us to look at. Then we still waited a good time befroe a waitress came over to ask us our order(even though she was very nice). We oredered from the brunch menu, it was horrible. Everything was tasteless, and those horrifying cheese grits have got to go, and you think they could spare some more canadian bacon, thin and small, thankfully the beer was good. Overall i will inform friends to stay away.
Nice, cool spot.
This is my first time at the Union Square location. I must say I have to disagree with the reviewer who claimed waitresses were rude. My two friends and I arrived and were told about the seating regulations (which is acceptable, you need more space for dinner than for appetizers) we waited for 5 minutes and got a table at the lower level.
The waitress was nice and attentive even when my friend who suffered a sudden drop in her BP lost consciousness, the manager helped carrying her to a couch, called ambulance, and refused to take neither a tip nor the pay for the tab (actually we drank only 1/3 of the samplings but finished the appetizers) even after my friend recovered and insisted on paying. Extremely amicable waitress and manager
Two thumbs up!
I give you guys 2 thumbs up
