Excellent brunch! – Cafe Orlin has some of the best brunch I've ever had. Their omelettes are excellent, and so are their salads. It was so good, we ended up going there two days in a row while we were in new york on a weekend.
best breakfast for the right price – I have been going to cafe orlin ever since i moved to NY, and a friend took me there one saturday morning-ish. I love the cozy atmosphere and in the warm-weather a prime place to people watch sipping away at your cappucino or OJ. The food is tasty, not complicated, but well executed and with good pricing in mind. There are so many options to eat in the St. Marks area and though I have tried most of them, I always manage to end up at Cafe Orlin........because you cannot wrong, plus the staff is on the mark, they are buzzing all over the place from table to table but always have an eye on each of us.
that Old East Village charm... – I must say, I can see why this East Village standby is so popular. I've been several times in the past year for brunch, dinner, or just a pitcher of white sangria on the patio (a steal at $15 a pitcher!), and have never been disappointed. I've found the host staff very accomodating, and the service pleasant and efficient. I once went for brunch, and even though we were an incomplete party, and the restaurant was extremely busy, they seated us immediately. :) The menu could stand to be a little more adventurous, but hey, it's brunch: who wants haute cuisine when they're hung over?
Great Service, Good Food and Reasonably Priced – My wife and I have been coming to Cafe Orlin for the last 4 years. Their brunch is the best we ever had. We've been to other places in NYC like Bubby's but to us, Cafe Orlin ranks very high in food and service. When we go there, the waitresses make us feel very comfortable by being very attentive, friendly and charming. I don't know what they teach their wait staff there but I would not change a thing. For the money, the food is very reasonably priced and delicious. Can anything taste better than fresh organic eggs?
It's fun to people watch – Go before it gets too cold and sit outside! There's always something crazy to see on that block. oh yeah and the food is good too.
I LOOOVE this place! – My boyfriend and I literally eat at this restaurant at least once a week. The food is excellent! The servers are always pritty nice and prompt. I recommend the gaspacho soup, it is out of this world! The food is good for both vegetarians and meateaters with a varity of options. This is my favorite restaurant!
Just check it out for yourself – The food was so great. The staff was a mix of all type of people, very fun environment. The service was very fast. I have been back twice the week. It is one of the best kept secret in the East Village. Go one and I bet you will be back again.
Cafe Orlin - Brunch and Coffee – Cafe Orlin is my favorite brunch spot in the city. Try the eggs florentine on the weekend and you won't regret it. They also have a great cup of coffee, and lots of space inside and out.
User review by boscawen – I've been going to Cafe Orlin for 20 years and it never disappoints me. Its a great place to meet a friend, sit for a long time over a great breakfast or brunch . It is one of the few places in the city that makes consistently great cappuccino. The cappuccino is more like what is served in Italy rather than Starbucks . The atmosphere is unpretentious , as is the food. Simple, highest quality ingredients are used.
My New York staple – I've been going to Orlin for some years, mostly for some of their staple offerings: delicious hummus, their spicy tomato soup, and their to-die-for warm chocolate cake. If you have a large group or a to-be-determined number of people coming to dinner, they are happy to move chairs around. The only downside service... staff is spaced out and I've experienced snobbishness too.
