In Short – With marble tables, an assortment of modern furnishings mixed in with love seats (by the open fire), exquisite tortoise-shell ceiling fans and a new boudoir-pink paint job, the bar at the Inn at Irving Place is the perfect blend of elegance and comfort. Its hidden bamboo garden in back could be the perfect summer spot--especially following a stroll down one of New York's most romantic blocks.
Awesome Garden
by JakeQ
Stumbled across this great lounge while waiting to get into Yama last weekend. Went back again this week.
No attitude, very nice people,my date LOVED the drinks. Go early as the garden is small, grab a corner and hang out all night
- Pros: martinis in private garden
- Cons: hard to find, they need a sign outside
Best Mojito
by stacymills
I have lived in NY for the past 12 years and cant believe I just found this place! The bartender suggested one of his latest creation "the CIBAR MOJITO" cant remember all of the ingredients, basil and spiced rum is the best I can do...but Im going back to find out! 2 fireplaces, cozy couches and the cutest garden, and get this..a polite staff. The bartender made me feel so comfortable while I was waiting for my lame 40 min late first date, even though he was very busy..nice touch. Great music too!
- Pros: really nice staff, excellent drinks, has garden too!
- Cons: hard to find
Going Downhill

My friend had a similar poor experience with a private party,. However, private parties not withstanding,I used to enjoy going to this place due to its chill ambience and clientele. The drinks are still good, but I have gone a few times in the last couple months, and the frat-element to the scene seems to be on the rise, and the atmosphere is more obnoxious than it is chill.
