Serves the purpose.

Big Bar is a nice little bar that serves the purpose if are looking to have a drink at a reasonable price. I'm not sure I would stay if I didn't get a table or a spot at the bar, but there was room when I went on a Saturday night. A friendly bartender was efficient, and in a major technological advance, they post their beers (plus the prices) on a sign on the wall. So I was spared asking the usual "what beers do you have?" and he didn't have to answer the same question for the 37,096th time.
- Pros: Just an overall nice place if you are looking for someplace you can talk.
- Cons: The ambience is not overwhelming.

Small, Friendly Drink Joint

This bar is BIG when it comes to welcoming staff and clientele and small when it comes to capacity. No nonsense, small joint for hanging with a couple of friends and for meeting some new ones. Cool owner, very friendly bartender....you'll stay for one drink, or you may end up staying all night.

Fabulous Little Hideout

For the best Stoli Vanil and cranberry juice straight up (a "cranilla"), there is no other place to go. Staff a friendly, and always remember you.
Shabby Chic, booths, sexy, a secret of the East Village :)
Crowded at the weekends, but just right during the week.

go during the week when there is time for the bartender to give you attention because the bartender is one of the best in the city. too bad he is leaving to start his own place, he will be missed...

Hidden gem

Great, tiny bar. Not too divey, but just enough so that it's got character. Always good music playing, and nice mixed-up crowd. Bartenders can be more interested in chatting with their friends than serving drinks, though.
