THE WORST SALON SERVICE EVER – HORRIBLE HORRIBLE STAFF. VERY RUDE and POOR SERVICE. I had a manicure and pedicure done today wednesday at 6 pm at the mon-wed reduced rate of $ 20. Since both the manicure and pedicure were done at the same time since there was "supposed to be too many appointments", two different ladies did them separately. And that is fine. I brought my own nail colors as always. Since both were done and finished prior to my having a chance to pay, the lady that tended to my manicure proceeded to take the necessary cash out of my wallet. FIRSTLY I should have been allowed to pay prior to having the color applied as with all nail salons. Secondly, when it came time for the tip I said "3 dollars" giving her a $10 dollar bill instructing her to give me back $ 7 dollars . The manicure lady then asked me how much more for the pedicure lady. And I said ok total 4 dollars then and instructed them to split it as 2 dollars seperately. She then chose to stuff what I assumed was $6 dollars back into my wallet. All this was done in a very hurried manner. AS I began walking back and open my wallet, what do I see but only $4 dollars. THIEVERY!!Whats worse, when I go up the cashier lady to tell her that based on the service I received I certainly did not intend to tip $ 6/- as it is 30% and that I wanted my $ 2 dollars back, she started yelling at me saying that "it is no 30%" and that today is "half price". Neither of which I can comprehend. She may have had trouble understanding me but nevertheless I spoke very slowly and clearly about how I had not intended to tip $6/-. She refused to stop yelling. Finally I had to walk away from the store with her yelling. I have never expereinced such low class behavior from any employers be it street vendors or any other salon employees.
READ BEFORE GOING – I started going to the Queen Jane Salon by 18th street and resorted to this one because it is closer to my apartment. Let's just say that I was so displeased with the service that I threw away my membership card when I was elligble for a free $10 waxing. THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO WAX/ARE IMPATIENT/ARE TALKING NON STOP TO EACHOTHER. I would rather pay the extra bucks and go somewhere better that continue going to this dungeon.NOT RECOMMENDED

favorite place to go – You can make an appointment, or walk in. The staff is very friendly, great + clean atmosphere, and extremely inexpensive. Mon-wed a mani+pedi is only $20! I'm always happy with the results.
Geat value – Of all the salons I've visited in New York, Queen Jane is the cleanest and best value. They offer $20 manicures and pedicures with appointment on Mon-Wed. The environment is very friendly.
