The Scene
With an emphasis on stellar service rather than pampering (OK, they do have a jug of wine), Jeniette is widely trusted in beauty circles for its bare-all "baby" wax (as the clients often refer to it) and even wilder down-there heart shaping and dyeing (yes, dyeing). The dual level space houses five waxing rooms, four facial/body treatment rooms and twelve manicure stations (the few downstairs are actually barcaloungers--utilitarian, yes, but perfect for a time-saving concurrent mani/pedi session).
The Services
Aside from its affinity for waxing where few have gone before, Jeniette made waves when it first introduced threading as a hair removal alternative. The salon also offers a wallet-friendly $10 manicure, full hair services, a basic one-hour facial for only $60, the full range of massage and reflexology, and package deals like Heaven on Earth (one-hour body treatment, massage, mud mask and wrap, hair deep conditioning, manicure and pedicure--and lunch) for only $179.

Jeniette is such a lovely cozy place. I've been going to Rosa for my brows for around 4 years, she is very professional and just the sweetest person. My brows always come out perfect with a natural looking shape, no skinny brows here. She works meticulously to provide the best shape for your face. This place has been around forever and for good reason, it's a comfortable place to come to, everyone is very friendly. It's very affordable for the quality of the service, I've looked long and hard for a better deal but anything else is a joke, for example the new place that opened up next door... with its glass box antiseptic look and scrolling sign. A spa/salon should be a warm calm haven... jeniette is definitely that with great prices on top!
Pros: Great deals for the great service.
Cons: I wish they were open later.

Jeniette is absolutely the BEST salon that I have ever been to. When I first moved to New York I was so fortunate to find Rosa--waxing artist extrodinnaire!! Rosa is literally an artist when it comes to the art of the perfectly sculped eyebrow and with her experience and expertise bikini waxes are MUCH less painful that my experiences with other salons in the past. I highly HIGHLY recommend Jeniette and especially ROSA to anyone looking for fabulously shaped eyebrows, less-painful skilled waxing all in a friendly, relaxed, warm and accomadating salon environment.
Pros: Skilled staff, warm relaxed salon environment.
