Great cut, great service from George. Got a great cut from george, he was very professional and payed attention to detail. He Listens to what you want, lets you look at pictures and really follows through. Good shave too!
I'm in love with Paul!. Paul is a life saver.. I made my appointment at Jeffrey Stein in a panic after a stylist at Dramatics ruined my hair. I walked in miserable and looking like a freak, but Paul helped me choose a great color and was able to fix the mistakes that the dramatics stylist had made. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and a joy to work with. He actually cared about what I wanted, what was best for my hair, and what would look good. After so many other salons pressured me into treatments and products that I didn't really need or want, it was such a welcomed change to go somewhere, actually get what I wanted, and walk out feeling beautiful. I've never felt better about a salon, and I will never go anywhere else.
Paul's Phenomenal!. Paul at the Broadway and 10th Street location is amazing! I have thick , long hair and normally go to Fekkai for my cuts. Since my hair is thick, I like to have long layers to lighten up the weight. I have to constantly maintain the layers, but paying high prices at Fekkai keeps me from maintaining my haircut every 4-6 weeks...UNTIL I discovered PAUL. A friend of mine kept raving about Paul's haircuts, so I decided to give him a try. Paul is simply the best. Paul's haircuts are so refreshing and my visits to him are always a pleasure because of his friendly and laid-back personality. His techniques and attention to detail are phenomenal. I am so picky about my haircuts, but Paul knew exactly what I wanted. His blowdrys are also one of the best I've ever had. I've received so many compliments from coworkers and random people on the street! What I especially love about his cuts is that even when my hair grows out, my cut and layers still look great! I highly recommend Paul to the "pickiest of picky" people like me looking for a great cut. His cuts are definitely worth more than any of the haircuts I used to pay big bucks for.
Amazing high lights by Gloria. I just found the best high lights on the East Coast. After moving to NYC from San Francisco this summer I have been faced with disappointment after disappointment when it comes to my hair. After my visit this afternoon with Gloria I was not brushing tears from my face or booking a flight home to get my hair fixed but actually was able to walk down the street and finally think... Wow I have GREAT HAIR! So for all those "BLONDES" that need a little lift, I highly recommend Gloria! For once a stylist listened to every word that came out of my mouth!
Pretty fantastic.
They don't take American Express which is a drawback.
I highly recommend Daniella or Javier for haircuts and color. I had my hair dyed and cut by another salon in Alphabet City and it was just awful. The hair stylist FRIED my hair and I was miserable.
Had stylist dry my hair the first couple of times to determine her technique, then ventured to a cut, and then finally color. I'm completely happy and have been going to her for about a year now.
Worst Dye Job EVER. First time actually getting my hair dyed at the Jeffrey Stein Salon - turned into a friday night nightmare. I'm going to keep this summation short, but let's just say - brown dye staining my entire face including my neck and some spots on my nose. They dumped a bottle of hair dye remover into my eyes and all over my face and shirt as they tried to get the stains out. Then still charged me full price for the job. (I only paid because I was in total shock). They wouldn't give me a bottle of dye remover to take home or tell me the ingredients in the bottle. The dye was on my face all weekend until I tried nail polish remover with acetone on my skin - that finally got it out! When I called the salon to complain (and everyone remembered me as the girl who left friday with stains all over her face) the only thing they would offer me as retribution was a 15% discount towards my next service there! Who are these people kidding?!?! I advise anyone who is reading this to never go there. Plus they are overpriced and often give crummy cuts and their receptionist is really mean if you're like ten minutes late.
User-friendly hair services at super friendly prices..
In Short
These simple, Formica-and-tile salons provide hairstyles that won't cause major financial setbacks. Stylists specialize in different hair types and looks to accommodate the wide range of clients--from students and locals to the corporate crew, depending on the neighborhood. Schedule an appointment or walk-in for color, cuts, conditioning treatments and blowouts. Prices vary between stylists, and name-brand products are available for the take-home, as are brushes, flatirons and other haircare tools.
Good Haircut for Men. Excellent men's haircut. The price is high but the service and quality is great. The hairdresser took her time and it was worth every penny. The place was very crowded, even during the week. Good value here.
Shouldn't be in cheap category. I will start by saying that I love my haircut and my highlight touch-up job matches how I had it before but I was miss-guided by thinking that this was a "cheap" salon. I understand that most of Manhattan's salons charge more than Jeffrey Stein but I know of a lot more that charge less. The colorists/stylish are good but don't expect rock botton prices. $250 for highlight and haircut made a dent in my wallet no matter how you look at it.
nooo. I went to Jeffrey Stein because it was in my area. I'm all about cute layered cuts and I ended up looking like a member of the early Beatles. No way! It grew out badly as well. Don't go there.
