ALBERTO IS "OMBOLIVOBO"!! I have been going to Astor Hair for more than a decade and I always look forward to spending time with the great Alberto. We sing, we laugh, we discuss soccer. He tacks up words of wit and wisdom that you can ponder while he cuts. And it's a fantastic cut every time!! (Alberto is off on Wednesdays and takes lunch 2-3. Even geniuses have to eat!) Grazie, Alberto!

Narcy is absolutely the best!!!! I've been going to Narcy for more than 10 years. I get my short hair trimmed every two weeks, and always look forward to seeing her. She is accommodating and patient even when she has several customers. She is meticulous, and attentive when trimming my hair for a perfect polished look. I get many complements from people who love how nice my hair looks (Ohh who cut your hair?). She won't let me leave her chair unless I'm totality satisfied. She will cut or style your hair exactly how you want it. Very affordable price's for quality service (love it). Oh, did I mention, she's also a skilled Barber. Go to Astor Place and ask for Narcy I haven't been disappointed in more than 10 years. She's just the Best!!!

My ode to Alberto: I thought the only way to get quality, stylized male haircuts was to pay big bucks at a hair salon. My experiences with barbers was out of date style books from the 90's and bored, lifeless barbers. Thankfully, my friend recommended I visit Alberto at Astor Hair Designers.

I cannot rave enough about this man! I look so forward to my visits with Alberto! He is truly the best barber in the city. Not only is personality larger than life, but his talent matches that! When I think I know what I want, he is able to complement it with a sight tip to make the style I want even better. When I'm not sure what I want, he is able to provide the best suggestions. And my hair looks amazing. I kid you not that I've gotten more attention and looks since going to Alberto (and who doesn't want that?). I cannot thank him enough for posting current pictures so I can simply point to a photo and say, "That's the cut I want."

He plays the best music! And don't worry about getting bored. There's so much to read, look at, and laugh at. Also, plenty of eye candy to stare at while he's doing his job. Trust me. You'll see.

All this at a very, very affordable price. He's popular! So you may have to wait, but there's a reason he has a line. I feel lucky to have found him!

Alberto is the best in the city. Ive been to many barbers in the city until I found Alberto thanks to a tip from a friend. Not only he assists you with any new cut you want but also makes it PERFETTO. I go to him every 10 days so I know what Im talking about. He is the best barber in the best city in the world. Period.

I have been a loyal client of Alberto’s for about 12 years now, and I can not imagine finding a better barber. Alberto is a true friend and a master of his craft. He really loves his work and appreciates his customers. You could spend a lot more money in this city and get a lot less quality, but if you want to find a real barber that will take care of you (even during his busiest times) then please give Alberto a shot. I have to mention one thing though. As I said, Alberto is a good friend of mine, so please try and respect his schedule. He takes one break during the day from 2-3 pm, and his only day off is Wednesday. I am sure he will accommodate you if you show up at 2 pm and are in a big rush, because he such a caring guy with a huge heart. However, out of consideration to him and all of his many other customers, please try and avoid this if at all possible. He works extremely hard all day and in order serve us at the highest level possible, he should be given at least a short break for some much needed rest. So head down to Astor Place, ask for Alberto at the front, and sit down and tell the happy smiling face in front of you, “Alberto, do what you do!”

Regina is amazing!!! I've been going to Regina for about 5 years now and I've consistently received a great haircut at a great price. You know it's a good cut when it starts to grow out and it still looks great. It's worth the wait if there are people ahead of you, but don't worry, she is fast and efficient.

If you walk into Astor Place Hair, you take your chances. They kinda did a bait and switch on me. I called down there to see Rita and get a little color cause I heard she did great work. Just some highlights, you know? This big guy told me she wasn't there " but Noemi's fantastic" so I tried her. After getting my hair baked, dried out....just destroyed, I asked for my money back. No way. I was really bothered so I called back and managed to get Rita. She had me come down again and fixed my color the way I wanted. If you want your color done right, call her and don't let them send you to someone else.
