More Like a Drinking Place.
Not sure why they even have food on the menu. I ordered their famous Stockbroker which is basically a surf and turf and the bartender is like, what is that? And she should be asking me? Right.
When food arrived the steak was average at best and not hot. The lobster tail was cold.
The bartenders may be attractive to certain men but they look like hookers or strippers and not really the type of people I want to look at when I'm enjoying my dinner.
This is more like a bar to cater the lonely bankers on Wall St as the guy sitting next to me was endlessly hitting on the bartender with some really awful pick up lines that would make a Nick Sparks novel sound like Romeo and Juliet.
Hot Bar Maids, Decent Steaks, Rabidly Rascist Waiter.
Have been to Nebraska's a few times as I work nearby and have an expense acct. It's owned and run by a beautiful romanian (?) body builder. Her schtick is to hire super hot russian, ukranian, romanian, etc. barmaids. This makes for nice scenery if you eat at the bar, though they sometimes seem to convey a nasty attitude.
Food is good and just slightly below the quality of the other steak places in the area (delmonico's, bobby van's). On the most recent occasion, just beofre Obama was sworn in, our waiter took it upon himself to lewdly denigrate the incoming president and then openly hope that he is soon "eliminated"! All without even making an attempt at discerning our political leanings (I happen to be uninterested in politics and am midddle of the road). This guy was crazy, if not slightly entertaining. However, the scary thing is that there are probably a lot like him out there.
Come for the barmaids, stay for the food (with a side of crazy)
Great Steak!.
Christmas party was a blast!
And the bartenders, always great and good fast service.
Go after 6pm, but reserve a table... you won't get one after 9pm
BEST PORTERHOUSE STEAK IN NYC!!!. Oh, WOW! What a great find. Have been eating steak around the city for the last 15 years and I think I've found my favorite porterhouse right here. My and the wife agreed that this steak is definitively the best we had in town. Visited the WTC site and we happend to find this place at the moment we were both starving from a day full of walking. We ordered the porterhouse for two wondering if it was enough. When it came, we realized that the amount of meat on our plate could feed 4 easily. The spicy mashed potatoes combined with the deadly broccoli rabe is an out of this world combination. Steak was tender, juicy and cooked to perfection, just as ordered. Nice relaxed, cozy athmosphere and a staff that knows what's going on in the kitchen. Overall, tremendous value for the money, great service and exceptional steak. We'll definitely be back here very soon!
One of the best steakhouses in the city. Huge portions cooked to perfections. Very friendly service. Very nice "old wood" setting. I've been here twice, loved it both times.
Amazing!. Amazing food, great bar scene! And there's another one in the Bronx.
Good steaks but ...... The steak was very good, but the location and ambience do not justify the uptown prices.
Strange service. We went on a quite night so waiter gave us his full attention. Steak was great but side dishes and everything else was nothing special. The waiter was trying to be funny but there is no polite way of telling the customer to shut up. After sensing I was annoyed he was trying to make up by buying us several rounds of drinks. Won't go back again though. I would recommend to friends who want to have good steak but will warn them about strange service.
Incredible. Nebraska Beef deserves serious consideration as the best steakhouse in the City of New York. The food and the waitstaff never fail to disappoint. The Veal Chops are priceless, and their culinary artistry should be commended.
Where's the beef?. When Nebraska says Petite Filet Mignon, they mean very petite. The steak was tasty, but not great. Home fries were coffee shop quality -- not typical steakhouse quality. Creamed spinach was luke warm and lacked flavor. This place is merely fair and has no ambience.
