Very good classic Italian fare. Excellent for classic Italian food with a focus on seafood--my favorite. The entrees are basic and classic--no fusion here--but tasty. Some desserts are homemade. Prices are a bit high, but worth it for the cozy Old World ambiance.

Editorial Review by Marcella Veneziale. Italian pasta dishes like gnocchi and pappardelle are the vehicle for hearty sauces, while the old-fashioned atmosphere continues the homey vibe.

very good, simple italian. If you like experimental food, this is not the place for you. But if you want well prepared, tastey and traditional italian you will like Ecco. The chicken scarpariello is delicious. Skip the caesar salad though, have the pasta fagioli instead.

Melt in your mouth Filet Migion!. OMG! MY Filet Migion was mouth watering delicious. This is the best steak I ever had here. The italian food is wonderful too! Very Pricey

I like Ecco. This is a solid Italian place with a steady, traditional menu. I have been there many times and will continue to return when in the mood. Overall, a good value for what you get. This is a restaurant that does not try to compete with the trendiest place on the block. Instead, it provides good eats for a mostly reasonable price.

P.S. Make sure you check the bill -- sometimes mistakes are made!

Better Italian Elsewhere. Wasn't impressed. Came here late night on a Thursday and restaurant was mostly empty. Menu is large, but the selections are not inventive and the because the menu is mostly in Italian, it is difficult to decipher given the overwhelming list of entrees and waiter's hurried demeanor. While the service was attentive, it was not overly friendly. Tables are small and booth tables are shaped like ironing boards and cramped. With a hundred great Italian places in the city, this place is not a standout.

A hidden Gem. Great food, great service and always interesting. Service is attentive without being intrusive and there are always interesting choices for the daily specials. Highly recommend.

WOW!!. Ecco is a true gem in lower Manhattan! The food was exceptional, along with the service. The staff was so accomodating and courteous. I will definitely go back to Ecco! As a resident of lower manhattan it was great to see the place packed and I even saw a celebrity! Go there, you will not be disappointed!
