“(Thank God for a vegetarian selection, I would have egg in my face, if I took them to Luger's) I had a surprisingly good salmon with a reddish brown curry sauce that didn't taste like the powdered kind you're used to.”
“best place for good food and perfect evening with some one especial”
“The staff was very rude and we had to beg to get water.”
Spice Up Your Night. Last week, I had dinner with a couple who were recent transplants and we agreed on Indian cuisine. We previewed the website menu and it helped. The place was sparse at 6 PM (of course NYers eat 7:30 on) and service was okay. She had a vegetarian entree and he had a stuffed portobello mushroom. (Thank God for a vegetarian selection, I would have egg in my face, if I took them to Luger's) I had a surprisingly good salmon with a reddish brown curry sauce that didn't taste like the powdered kind you're used to. All good reviews around the table and just have a mango Lassi to douse the spice. The hostess was apologetic enough when service was non existent towards the end because they had to fill in lots of take out orders. Oh, so that's why the place was quite empty? Go figure.
No service. This is the worst service I've encounter in my past two years of living in the city. The staff was very rude and we had to beg to get water. The food was ok at best.
innovative and delicious. Great, reasonable Indian food. You'll find dishes here you're unlikely to encounter anywhere else. The service is a little spotty, but well-inteneded and the food is worth it.
Two words: Awesome Food!. Two words: Awesome Food! You MUST MUST MUST try the 'frankies'...trust me they are to die for. But watch out for the spices! (I made the chef make mine less spicy). I also highly recommend the shrimp toast. Lunch buffet is also an excellent bargain. But believe me: Go and try the Frankies. You won't regret it.
REALLY Innovative. I was at spice grill last nite for downtown pre fixe dinner... enjoyed the dinner very much ..I ordered the chicken Tikka masala and the bengali fish curry the best I have eaten so far ...I donot agree with the previous rating ..I think the service was excellent and the staff was very friendly, they helped me to pick the dishes..I m glad we had our dinner @ spice grill..will deffinately go again and I highly recomend...
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!. Amazing! I just love the food. It's superb!! Really pretty setting.. OVER MAX.
Downtown Dinner 2002 - Prixe fix:
Appetizers were ok, waiter gave me poor suggestion..try the potato stuff kanish best one. Small servings for main entree, i had salmon (wasnt impressed) girlfriend had chicken, it was good. Dessert is a joke...dont bother
amazing.... it's a perfect place to have a amanzing indian food. I really loved the different and inovated touch that's the cheff gives to the food. also it's great to have dinner in a very romantic and confortable place, the service it's just perfect...they're so frendly that we never want to live the place!
Absolutely Fabulous!. I've eaten at many different Indian restaurants. But after last night, Spice Grill is the only place I'm eating indian cuisine. You must try the shrimp appetizers. Even my Indian friend couldn't believe how good and tasty everything was. This place has the the correct ambience and an excellent staff to make you feel like a guest and a friend at the same time.
Innovative cuisine. The best Indian food I have eaten,by far ..... The shrimp toast is mind blowing never eaten something like this diah in any Indian restaurant ..Ambiance is very classy and romantic with high cielings and antique lamps...service is wonderfull...best place for good food and perfect evening with some one especial ......will eat there again and again...
