Definitely expensive, but high-quality & worth it if they are indeed from the 1930s! Tiny pomeranian was asleep when I came, but cheerily licked my fingers & no problem. Lots of other goodies besides Kimonos to ogle--- I wish there had been teapots too, but it's a (beautifully) small store. I'd go again.
Pros: service/colors
Cons: no teapots

I had been going to the kimono House for tea bowls and kimonos for two years now. As expected of Manhattan it is pricy but top quality imports are anyway. The shopkeeper and her assistant are darling, they will definately go the extra mile for their customers! They helped me choose the rights bowls and kimonos for my first tea ceremony; great people. As for the dog, it did bother me at first but it's docile. It barks and weezes from it's old age; it usually stays behind the counter.
Pros: Insightful and quality customer service.
Cons: Small and sometimes stuffy.
