What People Are Saying About Moustache

The Scene – Moustache operates on a simple philosophy: Serve savory, affordable Middle Eastern food in a cozy, urbane setting--and keep that puffed-up, fresh-out-of-the-oven pita coming to the table. During warmer months, guests can grab a table in the lovely garden out back. The only drawback is the service, which suffers noticeably during peak hours. – – The Food – Start off with a mix of salads (babaganouj, chick pea-spinach-and-tomato, etc.) and move on to a sandwich, sliced leg of lamb or merguez sausage wrapped in a pita, or try a "pitza" for one.
Best place in town for middle eastern food

I don't usually write reviews for restaurants but I saw 2 awful reviews that I HAD to respond to. What the heck were they talking about???? I've been a customer at this restaurant for ten years and I never had a bad experience once! the food is top notch -healthy and fresh, just the way I like it, and the staff very friendly. The only con I can say about the place is that sometimes the place is so crowded, the service can be on the slower side. But what the heck, it's well worth the wait. And you CAN't beat the prices for the quality you get. Unsanitary?? if that was the case dude(ett), the place wouldn't have been around for 20 odd years (and still going strong by the way, they just opened a 3rd location in east harlem I've been told). So to those fools who wrote the nasty comments, I wonder, are you from a competitor? My favorite items on the menu: the Ouzi and all the delicious pitzas. And yeah, the loomi drink is an incredible blend of tart, bitter sweet. A must try.
- Pros: fresh healthy low-cost great value
- Cons: the crowds especially at the west village location can make seating slow
Great, affordable Middle Eastern food

Awesome place. I keep coming back for the food. I especially like their ground lamb pitza -the spices are 'just right' and it comes on a very thin crust. The decor is simple; there is a small courtyard in the back which I prefer to the seating in the front. Thus, I find it to be a great choice for a casual dinner/lunch.
- Pros: delicious food
- Cons: occasionally, slow service
Avoid like the plague!

This place served as an awful experience from the minute I walked in the door. We were seated against an open heater that burned my arm (a useless heater at that as the place was freezing).
Our waiter knew absolutely nothing about the wine menu and kept telling us they didn't have what was on there. We then just ordered soda and water, which he didn't bring over. Instead we saw him in the back eating a pizza and putting his hands all over everything.
When the food finally did arrive, it wasn't what we had ordered. The waiter didn't have time to properly articulate our order, but he did have time to stuff his face with his own food while handling customers food and beverage. It makes me ill to think about it. We left the restaurant.
Awful service, awful experience and an unsanitary facility. I'm surprised it hasn't been shut down yet. There are lots of great restaurants in the area - avoid this one (I can't imagine it would pass an inspection anyhow).
- Cons: Awful/rude waitstaff - unsanitary restaurant - hazardous!
