Editorial Review for Lucky Cheng's Restaurant – by Justin Hartung
In Short
No other establishment has better capitalized on the changing demographic of the East Village than Lucky Cheng's. When the restaurant first opened in the early 1990s, who could've have guessed that singing drag queens serving Chinese food would become a big-ticket lure for bachelorette and office parties? And yet, stretch limos full of tipsy accountants and brides-to-be line up for campy decor, belted karaoke and catty jokes about menu items like crackling duck and the pupu platter.

Insider Tips
When to GoIt's not just about drag queens--women also line up to see the weekend's "Savage Men" revue. Call for reservations.
The ExtrasIf your karaoke reception goes sour, sweeten things up with an erotic cake or even "Imelda's Shoe," a giant stiletto made from a pound of chocolate.

I went with a group of friends for someone's one birthday and we had an awsome time there. It was crowded all night with a pack of fun people most of whom seemed to be celebrating something. The floor show was the best point of the night it was all around you and all out that drag made me dizzy with pleasure. The "girls" of Lucky Cheng's are sweet and funny and gracious hostesses and made our night out a success. It was like going to an amusement park, the circus and for great Asian food all wrapped up in one.. Try it out and you will not be disappointed..
Pros: the strong drinks, and fancy showgirls

Went their last Saturday night and had a blast with my friends that were in from out of town.. I have not been there in a few years but things have only changed for the better including the show and the food.. I think that if you are looking to shock or surprise a friend or two this is definitely the place to do it.. Where else in this city can you get dinner and a show for just over $30 a person. No place that would this much fun I know that much..
Pros: stron strong drinks
Cons: crowded but fun
