What People Are Saying About Lucky Cheng's

No other establishment has better capitalized on the changing demographic of the East Village than Lucky Cheng's. When the restaurant first opened in the early 1990s, who could've have guessed that singing drag queens serving Chinese food would become a big-ticket lure for bachelorette and office parties? And yet, stretch limos full of tipsy accountants and brides-to-be line up for campy decor, belted karaoke and catty jokes about menu items like crackling duck and the pupu platter.
Terrible....waste of money.

We went to Lucky Chengs in NYC for my friends Bachelorette Party and it was the biggest waste of money. We got there and from the start the people working there were rude and obnoxious. I didn't know someone could curse so much in a matter of 30 minutes. The place was dirty and we were afraid to even touch anything. We weren't able to order our own meals, we all had to order family style but still pay $32.00 per person. The worst part was that they don't give you enough food for everyone in your party. Then we all got sick from eating their terrible food. The "show" if that's what you'd like to call it was horrible. It lasted all of a half an hour and it was boring and not all at what we expected. At the end of the show we were instructed to give the people a tip because they gave us a show. Umm........I thought that's what the fee for the show was for. The bill came and I gave them the money but was due back some change. Well, apparently they don't believe in giving change at Lucky Chengs so they just never came back and chose to ignore me when I asked about my money. When the show was over we were all left feeling disappointed and hoping we could get back that last hour.
There are so many other places in NYC to celebrate special events. Do yourself a favor and do not go to Lucky Chengs, spend your money somewhere else.
