“we were actually sat in a great location by the stage.”
“We didn't order the crazy cake, but the one I saw served looked SUBSTANTIAL.”
“The specialty cocktails were quite strong, the food was delicious (always ask your server what their favorites are and you won't go wrong) and our waiter was absolutely stunning!”
“The food is good, don't get me wrong, but the prices are outrageous, they make you think that you're paying only $32 for your "prix fix" meal, but then the add'l price is added on depending on the course you order, and it's not even worth it.”
“But to my surprise i was impressed by the new show style and length odf time it went for and how the menu was redone in an easy to understand pre fixe format making the ordering simplified and the food was quite tasty and surprisingly large portions.”
“Looking for a blast and a great place to take someone from out of town this is the one.”
“Definitely a delight to come back to an old friendly place.”
“Our waitress Torah gave me some great beauty tips and my boyfriend bought me a rose from the flower man!”
“On top of the over priced food, horrible service, horrible entertianment, & dirty environment - the management was the worst.”
“The lines to the bathroom are pretty long too so I suggest going easy on the water!”
LOVE THIS PLACE! I went there for my
friend's birthday party and wow.
The food wasn't that great, but the girls there are super nice and were very helpful. Very entertaining and totally admire their confidence.
I heard they're moving towards midtown? Guess who will be their #1 customer at their new location! hahahaha

Re: qdunkins
I'm not going to defend your complaints again Lucky Cheng's, I wasn't there. However, as someone who has worked for tips I am appalled that you think it's acceptable to not tip a waitress because you didn't like the food.
1-She didn't cook the food!
2-Waiters in America are allowed to be paid less than minimum wage. They are then taxed on estimated tips. This means they receive very small insignificant checks. The tips ARE their pay. If clothing doesn't fit you can't take money away from the sales clerk at Macy's. If you don't like a place then don't come back. Always tip your waitress.
Lowest Grade from NYC Dept of Health.
I came here on 3/3/2012 to celebrate my friends 30th bday. It turned out to be an absolute nightmare. Yes, I do agree that you have to be open minded in order to sit through a show of drag queens gyrating on chairs and customers. But this place is just disgusting. The decor is horrible. The "ladies" look dirty, as if they haven't washed their costumes in weeks. When I walked in, I was already weary about eating at a place that looks and smells so unclean. But I was willing to deal with it for my friend. Next...the food!!!
We selected the $40/person menu, which gives 5 appetizers (6 of each since there was 6 of us....go figure) and 4 entrees (plus a dessert sampler). One of the apps ordered was Chicken Satay. When they brought it to our table we immediately knew, by the looks of it, that something was wrong. So I picked one up and smelled it and literally almost vomited. I am totally convinced that the chicken was spoiled. I have NEVER smelled chicken like that and neither did anyone in my group. I initially was going to have them replace it with another app, but realized the lettuce that came out with the wontons were wilted and looked old. At that point we advised management that we would not eat the apps and to please cancel our entree. Of course they couldn't understand what we were talking about and proceeded to tell us that we were the only people to complain about food all day.
While I wasn't planning to pay for food we did not eat, to avoid argument, my friend told the manager that we would pay for the apps and drinks we ordered. When the bill came they had charged us $15 for each appetizer!! 6 chicken wings ($15??), 6 tiny spring rolls (15??) and on top of that, they included 20% gratuity (for what, bringing out spoiled food??). Of course, our waiter(tress) got pissy when we crossed it out.
Also, they claim to serve family style meals, which is completely untrue. I can't believe that they haven't been called out on this already. It is not family style to have a piece of steak, and two singe sides of rice and veggies (who is going to share that?? It is an individual meal!!!).
Seriously, I'm not the most picky person (and I have never left a review even when I was dissatisfied), but this place is gross!! It smells like sweat and crotch and so does the food, which explains the C grade they have from NYC Dept of Health (the LOWEST grade). They have 8 violations and 6 of them are CRITICAL. You can go to nyc.gov and get this info. This place should be shut down!!....I will continue to spread the word in the meantime!
Very entertaining & good food. My friends and I were looking for an offbeat dining experience and we ended up getting a very memorable one. The transexual entertainers were actually very talented and hilarious. We opted for the ribs and salmon and were pleasantly surprised by the great quality of the food. At $35 per person including drinks, worth the price of dinner and entertainment. All in all, would definitely plan on coming back here.
LOVE THE LOVELY LADIES OF CHENGS!. AMAZING PLACE ! I can' believe none of the girls of Cheng's have been on RuPaul's Drag Race, probably because there would be no competition! I had my baby shower (yes baby shower) here and it was hysterical and outrageous as I saw my husband get a lap dance from Paulina Princess of Power! Lailah the bartender was gorgeous and had me in stitches, and Paulina and Tiara put on a world class show! Also After the drinks start flowing and the show is over stay for the Karaoke!!!!! Thats when the REAL fun starts!
FUN PLACE TO DINE IN NYC. A friend of mine recommended this place coz me and my boyfriend want to experience something fun and and different, and to my surprise me and my boyfriend had a wonderful evening and had a blast...i enjoyed everything in this place...cant wait to come back...see you soon ladies of L C...
FABULOUS EXPERIENCE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. A group of us girls decided to celebrate one of our more reserved friends birthday this past weekend and we had a blast. The drinks were strong and so yummy. Totally loosened up our friend who went on to get a lap dance and even get on stage with the wild, talented and fun loving hostesses at Lucky Chengs. The place completely lived up to its legendary reputation as the most fun spot to celebrate and get crazy. It will be a night my friend will never forget. We are planning to go back again and again. Thanks Lucky Chengs for showing us a fabulous time !!!
Come visit as NYC kicks off the Holiday Season !!. I love Lucky Chengs, it is one of the friendliest neighborhood bar/eatery you can find in the city. It has a long sensational history and is one of the true historic landmarks in our great city that has survived. In an era when many of our iconic legendary NYC party places have closed their doors Lucky Chengs is a true survivor, no doubt thanks to the efforts of the lovely owner Hayne Suthon. The staff is very friendly and attentive while being witty and sensual. There is always a good time to be had and to complement the daily bachelorette parties that fill the house with young and exciting young ladies there is often a unique and special event. The staff is composed of some of the most talented and striking transgender performers. If you come in the next few weeks you may just be there when a new TV talent show may be filmed as they hold their new waitress auditions. I will be there, would not miss it and can not wait, as we approach the Halloween season which is always a interesting time to come to the Village to party.

Best place ever for a bachelorette party!!. Been here several times and Lips, but this place is just the most fun. I love the Asian food, we always go for either the $36 or $40 menu, and have great steak, salmon, tuna. Don't usually go for the wok items. The ribs are to die for. Forget about the food, it's great if you know what to order. It's the show and the waitresses. They are totally interactive, make it their business to ensure that every single person has a great time. Every time there, I laugh until my stomach hurts. The only drawback, the waitresses are very quick at asking you if ready for another. Ouch, feeling it this morning!!!!!
