What you'll hear – Jazz, acid-jazz, soul, drum 'n' bass, trip-hop and funk in the basement. DJs spinning upstairs. – – Step inside – The owners have clearly called in the interior decorators. Eschewing the standard exposed-brick model most new East Village lounges follow, they have opted for an amber color scheme and scattered ornaments and prints to create a vaguely faux-Eastern ambience. As you may have guessed by now, the net effect is somewhat cheesy, but Izzy has fine DJ nights and a great band space if lounging is your thing. DJs spin in the spiffy upstairs…

Been here a few times--it does tend to pack out with a pretty diverse crowd. The live band area is a bit small, but not too bad. The couch area in the back is cool, but also small. Be careful--someone I was with, as well as someone else in the place got their purses stolen the night I was there. Darn you!

We went there yesterday ( Friday ) for a drink and stayed until 3 am ! The DJ ( we forgot his name) plays anything from disco , latin, funk , hip hop to
reggea, samba etc..Very nice party-atmosphere. Highly recommended
