trendster yuppie snob bar. We went here with the dog as I read online it was on a list of dog friendly bars. When we walked in everyone looked at us as if we walked in with a homeless convict in tow. The barmaid wouldn't serve us until we showed ID (we are both old enough to her parents). Tried to be friendly with patrons, and just got dirty looks. Had one drink and went to Brooklyn Ale House and had a great time.

I guess I liked this neighborhood better when there were junkies falling from upper floor windows on a Friday night.

Need a little time away from the city but don't quite have the cash to leave?. The aura of this East Village bar and live music venue is decidedly hillbilly kitsch, though it remains a mystery as to whether the owners are actually conscious of that fact. There are concrete floors, yellow and green walls and a coat rack made from a dead deer. Yee-haw! On weekends, up-and-coming bands perform on a small corner stage. The music is usually suitably raw and ragged, with styles leaning heavily toward liquored-up country and blues. The jukebox is gruff in a lowdown bluesy sort of way, shuffling through Howlin' Wolf, Jerry Lee Lewis and MC5 while paying no mind to their differences. If it's rough and tumble (or at least drunk and despondent), it will be welcome here.

good times. seriously a contender for my favorite bar in the city. but don't check it out in too big of hordes...its lack of appeal to the masses is its greatest attribute! but happy hour is the best!

What more could you want?. A photo booth, pac man AND galaga, and two for one happy hour at $4. a drink- you can't go wrong. Sure the atmosphere isn't the greatest, but after a few drinks all that dingyness clears right up. Give it a try! It will grow on you.
